Zooming In on Fuji : Mount Fuji Through My Eyes
📅 Itinerary
Day1:Landed at Narita Airport.
Take Limousine Bus to Shinjuku. Standard One way Adult fare is ¥3,600. Travel time around 70-90min.
It drops off at Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal ( Busta Shinjuku), very close ti Shinjuku Station.
At Shinjuku Station, visit "Suica Penguin Plaza" Observation deck, directly connected to Shinjuku Station's New South Exit.
It offers clear views of platforms and constant train activity.
Enjoying the view while waiting for the 7PM bus to Kawaguchiko.
Then, ride on Limousine Bus heading to Kawaguchiko. It takes about 2 to 2 and a half hours to arrive.
Check in at Samurize Kura near by Kawaguchiko Station
Day2:
Rent a regular bike from a shop near Kawaguchiko Station. The 24hour rate is around ¥3,000 -¥5,000 depending on the shop.
Ride heading north towards Lake Kawaguchiko. The cycling loop around Lake is ~20km, mostly flat and well paved, perfect for leisurely sightseeing.
Just about 15-20minutes walk (or short cycle ride) from the lake' edge stop at Fuji Kawaguchiko Mosque (Masjid). The Masjid opened in November 2020 and there's a Halal Cafe that offers kebabs, gyro bowls, Japanese style chicken noodle, instant soups and snacks all halal certified.
Have a lunch and Zuhr prayer before moving to next stop.
There's a baseball batting cage located beside the Masjid that you can consider to have fun and casual activity after prayer and lunch.
continue biking and strolling around Kawaguchiko Lake, stopping at viewpoints like Oishi Park,Mt Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, Komagini Observation Plaza or Ubuyagasaki Cape shrine-all offering great Fuji lake photo along the cycling route.
Total loop time depends on pace and stops: leisurely loop with several stops ~2-3hours.Most cyclists take around 3-4 hours total including breaks.
Day3:
Start early cycle from our stay at Samurize Kura through Midorigaoka - Shimmoyoshida - Fujiyoshida - Kamiyoshida and still zooming for a captivated view of Mount Fuji.
Then return to Kawaguchiko Station to drop off our rental bike.
During midday we take Fujikyuko Line Train to Fuji-Q Highland, just one stop north from Kawaguchiko Station to Fuji-Q Highland Theme Park.
The Theme Park entry is free, but you pay ride or opt for a ride pass.
We spend about 5 hours in the park, just strolling around taking pictures, buying some souvenirs and enjoying the Mount Fuji view in the Theme Park.
We ended our day 3, walking out from the theme park to Watahan Super Centre to shop essentials and some snacks to bring home.
Next day we booked the earliest highway bus back to Tokyo.
