Designed and built in 1575 for the arrival of one of England’s most famous monarchs, Elizabeth the first the gardens at Kenilworth Castle in Warwickshire are a site to behold. I prefer this to Warwick Castle as it's far less 'touristy' and is very well preserved. The castle offers a guided tour and you feel you become part of British history touching the old walls and hearing stories of the past. There is a nice coffee shop inside and the flap jacks are just perfect.
