[Funahoko/Gion Festival] A dynamic boat-shaped float
Funaboko Preservation Society in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture

A funaboko that originated from Empress Jingu's departure from Silla.
While the Ofunehoko paraded in the Ato Matsuri represents the triumphant return of Empress Jingu, the Funehoko in the Mae Matsuri represents the departure of the army 🙌
Some of the Yamahoko floats were off-limits to women, but this one was open to women 🤗
I went inside, but they said, "We're going to play the music now, so please wait for about 15 minutes!", so I was lucky enough to be able to watch it from the second floor of the meeting hall 🎶
I was able to watch it up close and at my leisure 😊
I wondered if they had memorized all the music for such a long performance, but it seems that there was a score inside the Hoko 🎼
Even when I looked at it, it was like a code that I couldn't understand at all!
The inside of the Hoko was narrower than I expected, and there were a lot of musicians 😂It was so narrow that my hips sometimes floated off the ground! That's what they said‼ ️Not only the musicians, but also the dolls can go inside, giving us a glimpse of the hardships that go on during the procession💦
At the bow🚢 is a large golden "geki" (a goose)
It is a legendary Chinese water bird🦅🙌
The ceiling painting🖼 is also beautiful💕
The person who explained it to us was humorous and easy to understand, and it was a very rewarding experience.
