Lake Sevan is the largest body of water in Armenia and the Caucasus region. The lake is situated in Gegharkunik Province, at an altitude of 1,900.44 m or 6,235 ft above sea level. So It is one of the largest freshwater high-altitude (alpine) lakes in Eurasia. I always loved swimming in the cool water of Sevan, it was one of my favorite destinations in Armenia since I was a child. Now every time when I stand on the shore of the lake, it brings up a lot of good and warm childhood memories. #summervacay Spent the day out at Lake Sevan in Gegharkunik Province, and it was exactly what I needed. It’s one of the largest high altitude lakes in the world, and yeah, you can totally feel that fresh mountain air. The water is super clear and cold, in a refreshing way, not a shock your soul way (unless you jump in too fast like I did). There are a bunch of beaches around, some sandy, some rocky, but all super chill. I grabbed some fresh fish from a lakeside spot (trout is the go to) and it hit the spot. Also checked out Sevanavank Monastery, sitting up on the hill with the most epic view of the lake. Definitely worth the climb. The whole area has this peaceful, breezy energy, like nature telling you to slow down and just be. Perfect place to swim, eat, explore, or just do absolutely nothing. Lake Sevan’s got that quiet kind of magic. 10/10 would float again.

A spectacular view where you can have the open blue of Lake Sevan all to yourself ✨ The time spent walking along the ridge path with a great view is like looking at Lake Sevan from the sky.
