It was so peaceful and tender, like everything around me was quietly healing. About Liuhe Pagoda: Built over a thousand years ago in the Northern Song dynasty, it’s been rebuilt several times. The current structure mostly dates from the Qing dynasty, but the core bricks are still from the Song era. The pagoda has eight sides and thirteen levels of wooden eaves, with 104 iron bells hanging from the corners that chime with the wind. Inside, it’s seven levels of brick and stone, each with calligraphy plaques from Emperor Qianlong. Highlight: Though the pagoda has 9 levels total, the best views — and where most photos are taken — are from the 2nd floor. The lush greenery outside those windows is incredibly soothing. If you choose public transportation, you can take bus routes 314, 4, 4 Express, 318, 318B, Digital Tourism Bus Line 2, or Digital Tourism Bus Line 4, and get off at Liuhe Pagoda Station to encounter this marvel. The Imperially Bestowed Kaihua Temple Stele is a decree from the Secretariat that specially bestowed the name Kaihua Temple on the Liuhe Pagoda on Yuelun Mountain. It uses three different scripts: official script, running script, and regular script. Shengyin Temple was originally the palace of Emperor Kangxi on Gushan Mountain in Hangzhou. The "Nanming Mountain Poetry Stele" is located on the stone beam of Nanming Mountain. It was written by Zhao Liangxi, the prefect of Chuzhou in the 18th year of the Guangxu period (1892). The stone carvings of Mituo Temple are located on the northwest slope of Mituo Mountain and were carved in the fourth year of the Guangxu period (1878). The content of the stone carving is "The Amitabha Sutra" by Kumarajiva. It is the most complete large-scale Buddhist cliff carving from the Qing Dynasty in Hangzhou and is also a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Zhejiang Province.
