[2025 Kunigami District Attraction] Travel Guide for Mount Katsudake Parking (Updated Aug)

I climbed Mt. Katsuu, the third highest peak on Okinawa Island⛰️ About an hour and a half by car from Naha City. There are several courses, but I chose a gentle course that even beginners can climb. You can get close by by setting your navigation at [Katsuu-dake Trailhead Parking Lot]. The climb itself takes about an hour round trip. (I took breaks while climbing, so if you're faster, it might be even faster.) It's relatively cool because there's almost no sun, but It's very muddy underfoot, so it's a good idea to bring trekking shoes! I climbed with trail running shoes, but the grip was ineffective and I kept slipping😅 There's also climbing on the way, so it might be a good idea to bring gloves! Katsuudake, a mountain with a spectacular view of the East China Sea beyond Nago Bay in Nago City Katsuudake is a 452m mountain located on the Motobu Peninsula in the northern part of Okinawa's main island. You can reach the summit in 30 to 40 minutes from the free parking lot at the trailhead. The mountain is characterized by its rugged, rocky mountain trail. There are some tough spots here and there, but a spectacular view awaits you at the end of the final steep slope. You'll be able to see a 360-degree panoramic view of not only Nago Bay but also the sea on the Nakijin Village side. I went mountain climbing for the first time in Okinawa⛰ Located in Nago, Katsuu Peak is a spot where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Okinawa! I climbed up quite briskly without taking breaks, so it took me less than 40 minutes one way, but if you climb slowly, it might take about an hour. By the way, this place is not a cliff, there is a footing below♥️ If you adjust the angle of the camera so that the footing can't be seen, you can take a photo like this😍 However, falling is still dangerous, so be careful! Advice for those who are going💕 From a certain point, you'll have to use your hands to climb the rocks, so wear something easy to move in☝️ The top is very windy🌪 and since it's a rocky area, falling would be quite painful.
