Outer Shanghai: There’s Plenty to See
Although it’s a pain to get there from Downtown, the area around Dishui Lake is really pretty for a seaside stroll in summer. I recommend renting a car or going with a friend who has one. You can get there on Line 16, but everything is very spread out and you really need a car or at least a bike to get around. Enjoy some time on the far side of the lake. That’s where we took these photos.

Have you ever seen the fiery clouds and the big windmill?
Sunrise over the sea in the city
Sunrise + offshore windmill + crowd gathering seafood, in one word 'spectacular'. It turns out you can also watch the sunrise over the sea in Shanghai.
For someone like me who lives by the sea, I'd call it the ultimate of sunrises. Although I was a bit unlucky and the clouds blocked the sun a little during the sunrise, it was still quite stunning!!
This place is perfect for shooting both the starry sky and the sunrise. The density of the stars here is something you'll never see in the city. Before going, I thought it would be deserted because it's so far away,
but clearly, I was wrong. People started coming non-stop since the early morning.
Various coffee carts, camping tents, and vendors selling goods
made me wonder if there was a midnight market going on.
From the early morning, there were various lights on the sea, which were from people gathering seafood and digging for small crabs.
Don't worry about rushing here, my friends. If you want to gather seafood and don't have the tools, don't worry; there are old men coming over and over again to sell shovels and other tools.
What if you get hungry or thirsty? Don't worry! Coffee and snacks are sold all day long.
At the moment of sunrise, the azure sky accompanied by the fiery clouds instantly healed me. Remember to bring a telephoto lens when shooting the sunrise! Emphasize! Emphasize! A telephoto lens is the key! My friends, I brought a 70-300mm lens and still felt it was somewhat lacking. No matter if the frame is the windmill + people gathering seafood
or the windmill + sunrise combination (although I didn't capture it, I'm certain both can easily make great photos).
Location share: Nanhui Mouth Viewing Sea Park Admission: Free
Opening hours: 24 hours a day Nanhui Mouth Viewing Sea Park
Travel: Free parking! Free! Since the bus and subway are not running during sunrise time, it is recommended to drive yourself.
Photography tips:
The windmills at sea are quite far away, so it is recommended to use a telephoto lens for shooting to get good photos. Fiery clouds can be shot with a wide-angle lens.

Seaside Sunrise: A Moment That Heals the Soul
Incredible! Is this Shanghai, or on the sea? To witness such a stunning seaside sunrise in the city is unbelievable! 🌅 The sunrise, the offshore wind turbines, and the crowd gathering seafood together create a breathtaking scene.
For someone like me who grew up by the sea, the sunrise here is simply the pinnacle of all sunrises! 🌄 Even though the luck was not perfect and the sunrise was partially obscured by clouds, the awe it inspired was still unparalleled! 🤩 This place is not only a dreamy spot for shooting stars but also an excellent choice for capturing the beauty of the sunrise.
I thought this place was remote and wouldn't attract many people. However, since the early morning, people have been flocking here. 🚶♂️ There are all kinds of coffee carts, camping tents, and vendors selling goods, as if a lively midnight market is taking place! 😱 The sea surface is twinkling with lights in the early morning; those are people digging for small crabs.
Baozi, rest assured to head over! Even if you don't have the tools for gathering seafood, there's no need to worry, as kind-hearted elders are selling shovels and other tools. If you're feeling hungry or thirsty, there's no need to fret either, because coffee and snacks are available all day long.
The moment the sun rises, the azure sky and the brilliant clouds of dawn reflect each other, instantly healing the soul. 🤗 Remember to bring a telephoto lens, I emphasize again! Telephoto is the way to go for shooting sunrises! My 70-300mm focal length was even a bit insufficient. 📷 Whether it's the combination of wind turbines and seafood gatherers or the pairing of wind turbines with the sunrise, you can easily take stunning photos.
📍Address: Nanhui Mouth Viewing Park
💰Admission: Free
🌄Opening Hours: 24 hours a day
🚙Travel Method: Free parking! Since buses and subways are not operating at sunrise, self-driving is recommended.
📸Photography Tips:
👀Use a telephoto lens to shoot distant wind turbines, which can add depth to the image.
🤔A wide-angle lens can capture a broader sky, making the clouds of dawn even more spectacular.
🧐Try different shooting angles and compositions to create unique visual effects.

Nanhui Mouth Sea View Park | Southeastern end of Shanghai mainland | Best place in Shanghai for stargazing and sunrise viewing
| Southeastern end of Shanghai mainland | Best place in Shanghai for stargazing and sunrise viewing.❤Recommended reason:
Nanhui Mouth Sea View Park, located at the southeastern edge of Shanghai mainland. The iconic sculpture of the entire park is a double-layer net frame structure made of stainless steel pipes, with a total steel usage of about 120 tons, the "Sinan Fish" (compass). The park is newly built on the blown sand reclaimed beach, and is a commemorative park that reflects the functions of wetland land reserve resources and near-sea coastal wetland landscapes.
🌟Highlights:
The majestic flood control dike, winding at the southeastern end of the East China Sea Shanghai mainland. Standing at Nanhui Mouth, overlooking the port bridge connection, it is magnificent; near the seagulls flying, fishing sails dotted, looking back at the new city, thriving. Walking on the seawall, watching the sunrise in the morning, and stargazing at night. Facing the sea with the wind, it is refreshing and endless, cleverly borrowing the sea enclosure and dike construction project to build a sea view park.
✅Must experience:
The air is fresh and the space is open, allowing you to relax completely. There are catering barbecue areas, camping areas, and expansion training team building areas nearby.
🚉Traffic strategy:

Be magnanimous, live a good life
Nanhui Zui Sea Viewing Park, Nanhui sea catching, Shanghai's sea, is also very photogenic
Drip!
The sunset, airplane, moonrise, and returning birds at Nanhui Zui are really amazing! Actually, what I care about is taking pictures, not catching the sea, because I can't catch it at all
To catch the sea, you need to look at the tide table, otherwise you can't go to sea! Remember
You can come early, go to the surrounding reed swamps to catch lobsters! A lot of lobsters! About 30s can be hooked! You need to prepare lines and pig liver as bait!
The other thing is taking pictures, taking pictures of the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening, it is easy to take good pictures here, whether it is portraits or sea catching records!
Actually, it is not recommended to wear slippers to go to sea, it will splash water! You can put the slippers on the shore! Nanhui Zui Sea Viewing Park
