#Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Botanical Garden🌷, Nanjing
Nanjing botanical Garden in Zhongshan mountain is a best place to visit during the spring 🌸🌷🌹. I took this pictures in mid of March. Tulip blossom will be in March and early April. Entrance fee for each person is 45 RMB 💴 and purchase with Alipay or Wechat from entrance. Now due to the pandemic health code and travel code is must for entering the garden.
Getting there : Nearest metro station 🚇 is Muxuyuan line 2 which is 1,6 km away from the botanical Garden. Follow the sign for exit 1. Sightseeing buses are available or can take the paid cycles. Cycling will not be easy since it is uphill.

The tulips at Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden are so beautiful!
Taken on March 13th.
The tulips in the southern garden of Zhongshan Botanical Garden have bloomed! Most varieties are in full bloom now, and it's already a good time to go for a photo shoot. There are quite a few people even on weekdays, so be mentally prepared
The cherry blossoms in the northern garden have also bloomed, and there are even more people. When I went today without sunlight, the photos I took were not very satisfying, so I suggest our family members choose a sunny day to visit.
👉 Zhongshan Botanical Garden is divided into southern and northern gardens, with tickets priced at 45 for the south and 15 for the north, or a combined ticket for 50. Those with the Nanjing Park Annual Pass can enter both gardens for free. The northern garden is larger, while the southern garden depends on the season; there are many types of flowers in spring, and the Crescent Embankment is also incredibly beautiful in autumn.
👉 The entrance is very congested, and parking is expensive. It's a one-kilometer walk from the Mufu Garden Station of the subway. I also recommend taking a taxi or bus, as there is a bus station right at the entrance.

The autumn and winter atmosphere at Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden is enchanting
I visited in November and am only now sorting through the photos, but they are truly stunning!
The autumn in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai region is really like heaven. I can't help but feel incredibly lucky every time! It's a blessing to live here for a year or more. 🤩
Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden is divided into the South Garden and North Garden. We visited the North Garden (admission ticket 🎫15💰), which I highly recommend. It's very beautiful, especially during autumn and winter, resembling a fairyland. Right at the entrance, there is a large area of ginkgo trees, and as you walk further, you'll see swathes of red and yellow maple leaves, as well as small bridges over flowing water, perfect for a leisurely stroll.

Enjoying the spring at Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden
Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden's comprehensive review on March 20th is as follows.
Despite the weather forecast predicting rain for the weekend, which might end the blooming season early and affect everyone's photography plans, the botanical garden was bustling with visitors at noon on a weekday, specifically on Wednesday, March 20th. Due to the large number of visitors, Linggu Road was even temporarily closed for detour. I chose to take a taxi that day, but encountered a traffic police blockade on Linggu Road and had to detour to the entrance of Fugui Mountain Residential Area. Although there were about two kilometers left to my destination, the scenery along the way was so captivating that I lingered. The park inside the Fugui Mountain Residential Area was beautifully scenic, with magnolias and cherry blossoms blooming alongside the city wall, a sight too beautiful to describe. The famous Brother Lion's Head shop and the open-air market at the entrance of the residential area were full of life, making me stop to taste and admire.
After passing through the Fugui Mountain Residential Area, I followed the navigation and successfully reached the botanical garden. I had planned to visit both the South and North Gardens, but due to time constraints, I only visited the South Garden. Although there were four queues for entry into the South Garden, the process was smooth, with both garden cards and QR code ticket scanning available, and the ticket checking was extremely fast, allowing me to enter within minutes.
Upon entering the South Garden, a dazzling tulip garden came into view. Various varieties of tulips were blooming in competition, a breathtaking sight that attracted many visitors to stop and take photos. Lovely children were playing joyfully in the spring light, and the whole garden was filled with vitality and vigor.
Additionally, I would like to specially recommend the grilled sausages from the snack bar on the right-hand side just inside the South Garden. The aromatic and delicious grilled sausages were memorable and definitely worth a try.
Overall, despite the less-than-ideal weather forecast, the South Garden of Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden still presented a unique charm. Both the beautiful floral scenery and the convenient services left a deep impression on me.

Visiting the park is the proper affair‖March 16th, tulips at the botanical garden
The tulips at Zhongshan Botanical Garden have bloomed on cue, and a large swath of pink tulips at the entrance of the South Garden is already looking gorgeous. This year, there's a new scene arranged, with colorful flowers on both sides of the stream and a fairy-like mist over the water, creating a scene reminiscent of Monet's garden, stunningly beautiful.
Zhongshan Botanical Garden flower viewing tips:
The entire South Garden has tulips planted in many places, and currently, the best blooms are the pink and red tulips at the entrance. There are still many tulips in other areas that have not bloomed, so there's no need to rush for flower viewing. Try to avoid weekends if possible, as it gets really crowded.
The Monet garden setting is by the stream on the right side of the entrance. Right now, there aren't many flowers along the stream, but there might be other flowers later, like last year's daffodils, which haven't been seen yet this year.
Today is Saturday, and the mist spray over the stream was turned on before 9 am. On weekdays, it might start a bit later.
In addition to tulips, the South Garden's large patches of February orchids have also bloomed, and the Tropical Plant Palace currently has an orchid exhibition, featuring various rare and precious orchids and Phalaenopsis, which are definitely worth seeing.
The pink early cherry blossoms in the North Garden have also bloomed, and you can plan a day to enjoy the flowers in both the South and North Gardens.

The cherry blossoms in Nanjing are absolutely stunning at the Zhongshan Botanical Garden!
The cherry blossoms at Zhongshan Botanical Garden are breathtakingly beautiful! The Tsubaki Camellias at Zhongshan Botanical Garden have bloomed! A sea of pink flowers stretches out, looking like pink clouds under the blue sky. Joyful birds and hardworking bees flit about, bringing the scent of spring right to your face. Come walk the flower path and embrace the most beautiful spring here!

The tulips at the Zhongshan Botanical Garden in Nanjing are in bloom
The tulips at the Zhongshan Botanical Garden are in full bloom. The botanical garden is truly a blessing for annual pass enthusiasts, with different flowers blooming each season. Today, I visited both the south and north gardens; the tulips in the south garden are blooming perfectly, and the cherry blossoms in the north garden are also splendid.
Right after entering the south garden, you'll see the tulips on the right-hand side. There's also a large patch near the Crescent Embankment, and more tulips are continuously being planted along the road. Currently, there are pink, white, and bright red tulips in bloom.
There are a lot of people, and you might run into some aunties who are a bit too enthusiastic about the flowers... It's recommended to take low-angle shots looking up at the flowers to get a clear view without people in the frame.
When admiring and photographing the flowers, please try not to step on them, so that more people can enjoy them. With the upcoming travel peak season, I hope that more visitors from other places can appreciate them.
📍: Zhongshan Botanical Garden (South Garden)
🎫: South Garden 42, North Garden 14, combined ticket 45, annual pass free
⏰: 8:30-17:00
It's difficult to hail a taxi in the scenic area, and it can get congested, so walking or hailing a taxi in advance is recommended.

The breathtaking cherry blossom avenue is in full bloom at the Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden, capturing the beauty in your eyes!
Spring breeze on the face, cherry blossoms bloom
The cherry blossom season is here, and in the North Garden of the Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden, nearly two hundred cherry trees are gracefully growing by the water. Petal by petal, the delicate pink blossoms bloom against the azure sky, as if bringing a breath of fresh spring air.
Walking into the cherry blossom avenue is like stepping into a fairy tale world of pink floral seas. The emerald green lake water next to the peach grove reflects the splendid floral scenery, and every step feels like a stroll in a painting. It's a pleasure to be here, where you can capture the stunning moment of cherry blossoms for a photo, leaving behind your own spring memories.
For those who want to go flower viewing, why not plan a lovely spring outing. The North Garden of Zhongshan Botanical Garden is open daily from 8:30 to 17:30, 🎫 and the ticket price is 15 yuan for the North Garden (50 yuan for a combined ticket for both the North and South Gardens). 🚞 The transportation is convenient; you can take 🚇 subway line 2 to Muxuyuan Station, then transfer to bus 20/315 🚇 to Zhongshan Botanical Garden Station, or walk for 15 minutes to reach there.

Spring Outing Diary | Captured on 3/13 I fell into a spring that looked like an oil painting
| Captured on 3/13 I fell into a spring that looked like an oil painting. 🌟Highlights:
Last year on this day, the cold cherry blossoms in the North Garden and the tulips in the South Garden 🌷 bloomed simultaneously, with only two cold cherry trees and the tulips 🌷 filling the garden. This year it's the other way around, the North Garden's cold cherry blossoms have bloomed into a sea, while only about ten percent of the South Garden's tulips have opened.
👍Most recommended:
Only the pink ones at the main entrance, and those on the road opposite Crescent Embankment have bloomed. The pink ones are just budding. Some of the big red ones by the roadside have bloomed.
✅Other colors, those by Crescent Embankment, none have bloomed.
✅There's an upside to not everything being in bloom, which is fewer people 😜. The main crowd has gone to the other side to photograph the cherry blossoms, so you can get clean shots here.
✅To the right of the entrance, by the little river, some small scenes have been created. It's not quite Monet's garden, but there's still a bit of a fairy tale vibe.
🚉Transportation tips:
✅🚌The most convenient.
✅If you drive before 8 am, park in the West Parking Lot of Plum Valley, a ten-minute walk away, and it costs 6 yuan to park for the whole day 😍👻

It's truly more beautiful than anywhere else, right here in Zhongshan Botanical Garden
The recent weather has been so good, sunny and very suitable for going out to take pictures. In addition to Qixia Mountain, the Red Maple Ridge in the North Garden of Zhongshan Botanical Garden is also a very beautiful place~
The maple leaves here are not all red, but they form a beautiful picture in the undulating forest.
The scenery here is like God accidentally knocked over the palette, with clear layers and a very rich gradient effect. Every corner is full of surprises, to the point of being speechlessly beautiful. Sitting by the stream and admiring the maple is also a pleasure, I really like my current state~
📍North Garden of Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden
👉Go straight through the main building, and the Red Maple Ridge is behind the main building.
In the leisurely morning, without sunshine, quickly decided to bring the child to visit Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden, breathe forest oxygen, this season to Nanjing is not very hot, leisurely stroll for a morning

What a sight to behold! Nanjing Red Maple Ridge: A maple leaf fairyland in autumn!
In the blink of an eye, it's late autumn, and the red maple in Nanjing has reached its most beautiful moment. If you are visiting Nanjing, you must see the red maple. If you think Qixia Mountain is too far, then Zhongshan Botanical Garden is the best place to appreciate maple.
Red Maple Ridge in Nanjing is located in the core scenic area of Beiyuan. It has planted various kinds of Aceraceae plants, including common Acer negundo, Acer truncatum and Acer macrophyllum. Such diversity makes Red Maple Ridge one of the richest red leaf viewing spots in Nanjing, which is quite distinctive. Under the sunlight, the leaves of these deciduous trees are layered, making it a pleasant sight. Especially Zhongshan Botanical Garden, backed by Zhongshan Mountain and facing Qian Lake, blends the landscape perfectly. Crescent Dam is the location of the cypress trees, and the beauty of the scenery is intoxicating.
🚘 Transportation: Subway Line 2, Alfalfa Garden Exit 2, transfer to Bus 315/20, get off at Zhongshan Botanical Garden Station; self-driving can park at Ming Xiaoling Parking Lot;
🎫 Tickets: Beiyuan 15, Nanbei Garden 50, Nanjing Garden Card available;

🗺️Recommended Route
Route: Zhongshan Botanical Garden Beiyuan, Red Maple Ridge→Botanical Garden Road→Pipa Lake, Nanjing Little Kanas.
⏰ Distance: The route is about 2km, and it takes about 2-3 hours to play;
💥Tips:
☑️Enter Zhongshan Botanical Garden from Beiyuan, pass through Ginkgo Road, and then keep going. Turn right at the intersection, and you will see the charming mountain full of maple leaves. There are many varieties here, including feather maple, tea bar maple, yuanbao maple, torch tree, red maple, chicken claw maple and yellow maple, each of which displays a colorful scene.
☑️At present, about 90% of the maple leaves have turned red, and the scenery is very spectacular. The entire mountain area presents a landscape of red, yellow, orange and green colors reflecting each other, just like a beautiful and colorful palette.
☑️Red Maple Ridge is a great shooting spot. The creek side and the wooden bridge are very good spots for taking pictures, and there is also a chance to capture the amazing Tyndall light.
☑️If you walk about 500 meters from Zhongshan Botanical Garden, you can also come to Pipa Lake, which is a sycamore avenue with few people. Moreover, the light here is very good in winter.
☑️Zhongshan Botanical Garden is also very close to the No. 1 gate of Ming Xiaoling, only about 6 or 7 minutes' walk. So, you can visit Zhongshan Botanical Garden and Ming Xiaoling together.

Don't sleep in when you come to Nanjing! The autumn here is as beautiful as a fairy tale, and the Chinese tallow trees are named after the crows that like to eat them
In the Song Dynasty, Lin Hejing wrote a poem about it: On the top of the headscarf peak is the Chinese tallow tree, which turns red before the frost falls. Every November, the Chinese tallow trees in Nanjing turn yellow, purple, red, and green, they are very beautiful, and the leaves are heart-shaped, which is very lovely.
The Chinese tallow trees on the Crescent Dam in Nanjing's Zhongshan Botanical Garden are beautifully colored at this time of year, and the trees are reflected in the water, lighting up Nanjing's autumn scenery like a landscape painting.
The best angle for reflection photography is at the foot of the city wall of Fugui Mountain opposite the Crescent Dam. The reflections taken are really beautiful and very national style.
Also, those who fly drones need to pay attention, it is easy to lose signal here, especially easy to lose the drone, and the kind that can't be found, so be sure to pay attention!
Location: At the foot of the city wall of Fugui Mountain opposite the Crescent Dam in Zhongshan Botanical Garden
Transportation: Transfer to 315/20 at Exit 2 of Metro Line 2, get off at Botanical Garden Station
Ticket: Free
Time: Around six in the morning, if you're lucky, you can take pictures of the morning glow platform platform
Nanjing is so beautiful in autumn that you must come and see it once

12/6 Real shot Zhongshan Botanical Garden Red Maple Ridge Photo Spot Sharing
🌟Highlights:
Every year during the red maple season, the Red Maple Ridge in the North Garden of Zhongshan Botanical Garden, I personally think it's more photogenic than Qixia Mountain.
🕙Business hours:
Open at 8:30, I rushed to be the first one today, and quickly took a few shots of the empty little red bridge. The auntie group then killed it🙈See the red bridge photos in the previous note.
🚉Travel strategy:
Parking is still my favorite: Meihuagu West Parking Lot, a ten-minute walk. 6 yuan per time before 8 o'clock, no one can beat the cost performance👻😍😊
📝Note tips:
If you want to take pictures of the empty little red bridge, you can only rush to be the first one on non-weekends1⃣, and there will be more and more people behind.
🗓Photo spot sharing:
1⃣No need to squeeze on the red bridge for photo spots, on the slopes on both sides, the red maples each have their own posture, especially when shooting against the light, the leaves are glowing, it's extremely dreamy.
2⃣By the water ditch, with water as the background, the maple leaves🍁 are even more charming. This place is also suitable for taking portraits (see the first picture).

Recommendations for visiting Zhongshan Botanical Garden
Nature is the best colorist, and this week the Red Maple Ridge in the North Garden of Zhongshan Botanical Garden has entered the most colorful period. Red, yellow, and green are intertwined to form a beautiful picture. If you want to catch the tail of autumn to enjoy the maple, and don't want to run far to Qixia Mountain, then coming here on the weekend is a good choice.
In terms of transportation, you can choose to take the subway line 2 and get off at Muxuyuan Station, then transfer to bus 20 or 315 to Zhongshan Botanical Garden Station. Or you can directly take bus 20 or 315, or walk for 15 minutes through the greenway to reach the botanical garden.
The opening hours are from 8:30 in the morning to 17:00, and the ticket price is 15 yuan per adult (50 yuan for a combined ticket for the South and North Gardens). In the South Garden this season, you can shoot the Metasequoia forest and the tropical plant house.
In terms of shooting skills, the Ginkgo Avenue at the entrance has all fallen, and the ground is golden, which is very suitable for shooting. The Red Maple Ridge is in a position inside the North Garden. Follow the Ginkgo Avenue straight ahead. After seeing the main building on the right, the Red Maple Ridge is behind the main building. There is a large lawn in front of the main building, and there is a row of tall French plane trees behind the main building, which are also good for shooting.
The Red Maple Ridge is colorful this week, and it will be even more red next week, but some parts will be scorched. Due to the lack of rain in Nanjing this autumn, it is recommended to shoot in the near future. Zhongshan Botanical Garden is close to the No. 1 gate of Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. The autumn scenery of the triangular maple on the large lawn next to the No. 3 gate of Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, the Taxodium distichum, and the Shixiang Road is still online. If you have time, you can also visit Pipa Lake by the city wall, known as the Little Kanas of Nanjing.

The breathtakingly beautiful maple leaves in the urban area of Nanjing are shot with a mobile phone
📍Location: Located at Hongfenggang in the North Garden of Zhongshan Botanical Garden (90% color change

Compared with Qixia Mountain, Zhongshan Botanical Garden is more valuable! Hurry up to Hongfenggang in the North Garden of the Botanical Garden at noon! The maple leaves have almost all turned red, some have even withered, so this weekend is the best time to watch the maple leaves! Use mobile phone to shoot, the effect is super beautiful! Hongfenggang is located on the hillside behind the main building. After entering the North Garden gate, walk along the red building opposite the main building, and walk 600 meters forward to see the sign of Hongfenggang! The article is attached with a route map and location description (walk 300 meters forward, the red bridge on the right is a popular check-in point, you can look up from under the bridge; the small river on the left is another check-in point, take pictures along the river).
Friendly reminder: The degree of color change of the maple leaves on Hongfenggang is 90%, and some have withered! The weather forecast for next weekend also shows rain, so don't miss this weekend if you have time! The maple leaves are really beautiful! Even if you don't go to Kyoto, you can enjoy the visual feast! Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden is close to Mingxiaoling No.1 entrance, and No.1 entrance is also the closest door to Shixiang Road, and you can also see the Ginkgo Avenue of Mingxiaoling by the way! There are also Taxodium distichum at the entrance of No.3! Enter No.3, walk 400 meters to the Botanical Garden when you come out, the tour time for watching maple leaves is about one hour, very perfect! (There is also a close No.1 entrance of the Four Alfalfa Garden near No.3, there may be traffic congestion on weekends, if you drive by yourself, you can park in the Mingxiaoling parking lot P, and then walk 400 meters to the North Garden of the Botanical Garden, there may also be traffic congestion from Taipingmen! You can choose subway, bus or go according to the private route of Route 02.

Fairy Tale World in Autumn | Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden
Autumn in Nanjing is not just one color.
The autumn in the North Garden is a great feast about color, it's like a palette knocked over by magic falling into the world.
The sunlight shines through the gaps in the leaves, casting mottled shadows, bringing endless beauty and romance.
The maple leaves on Hongfeng Gang have turned red by about one third, and have gradually entered the viewing period, you can go and see. However, the best time is still in early December.
