It's about a 30-minute bus ride from Ishigaki Airport to the port. From there, it's a 15-minute ferry ride to Taketomi Island. I stayed overnight, so I really enjoyed the empty ocean in the morning and the sunset around 7:30pm. There were a few clouds, so the sunset was cloudy, but it was beautiful. The clouds reflected on the sea created a fantastic view. Also, although it's difficult to photograph, if you go to Nishi Pier around 9pm, you can see the stars really well. It was so beautiful, it looked like they were falling! I recommend staying overnight, as you can spend time when there are fewer tourists around.

We visited Taketomi Island's West Pier on a fine day just before lunch. The white pier stretched straight out into the emerald-green ocean, and it felt as if we were standing between the sky and the sea. There were few tourists, and it was very quiet, with only the sound of the waves and the sea breeze resonating pleasantly, creating a relaxing moment. The ocean seen from the pier was extremely clear, and the sparkling water was truly beautiful. It's a popular photo spot, but the sense of freedom and beauty you feel when you actually stand there is worth more than just a photograph. Taketomi Island's West Pier is very crowded during the day. Wanting to enjoy it slowly and in peace, I took the first high-speed boat of the morning to the island. The only drawback was that the bicycle rental service wasn't open yet, so I had to walk 1.5km each way... I walked slowly around the island, where there were almost no tourists. After walking for about 20 minutes while enjoying the view, I arrived at the West Pier. There were no other tourists, so I had this magnificent view all to myself. All I could hear was the sound of the waves and the wind. It was a wonderful experience that made me think I'd like to go again at this time of day.

From the front of the bridge, you can see Iriomote Island and Kamima Island. In ancient times, the West Pier was the pier for villagers to go to Iriomote Island. I went to Nishi-sanbashi Pier, which is a great spot for watching the sunset on Taketomi Island. It was designated a national tangible cultural property in 2005. It's a great spot for watching the sunset, but I couldn't see it because of the ferry time, so I went sightseeing around 2pm. It was a sunny day and the sea was beautiful. It's called Taketomi Blue! lol I'd like to see the sunset from here someday. The scenery seems to be different at high tide and low tide, so I'd like to see that someday too!
