Never be tired of math again, a new height of math enlightenment
Hi~ Welcome to Peppa Pig's parenting channel~
Today, let's not talk about parenting, but lightly chat about some thoughts and insights on math enlightenment. It was accidentally seen in a bookstore with Pitaya, and after going in, I found that it was quite consistent with my own philosophy of math. Just before, a mom asked, don't you study when you take your child out to play all day? Let's talk about it today✌️
1⃣️Math should be learned in life, not alone
The son of the nanny is a PhD student at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She said that when her son was young, she did not specifically teach math, but often asked when her son was playing, 'How many feet does a duck have? What about two ducks? Now there are 2 ducks, how many are there if another one comes? Ask in various ways' I realized that math cannot be learned independently, it must be learned in life.
2⃣️Math enlightenment starts from the concrete⇢ and then transitions to the abstract
Pitaya has been reading Montessori since kindergarten. I personally very much agree with Montessori's educational philosophy and admire those children who can do four-digit addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in the big class. Therefore, I will give her the maximum exposure to some concrete objects (I also bought a lot of teaching aids at home, see Figure X) Through a large amount of accumulation of the concept of quantity, lay the foundation for later abstraction.
3⃣️Mathematical thinking is more important than brushing questions
Classification, abstraction, set, number type, correspondence, quantification and other mathematical ideas can be learned in life, and what is truly felt and touched will definitely be deeper than the textbook. This exhibition starts from the underlying logic and uses hands-on + game methods to enlighten children in mathematics. There are a total of 15 games, corresponding to quantification + correspondence + statistics three ideas, and different difficulty levels allow children of different ages to have different ways of playing.
4⃣️Share some books and documentaries worth watching for parents and children👇🏻
📚'Core Concepts of Preschool Mathematics' is easy to understand and short in length
📚'Mathematics Starts Here' 10 mathematical ideas from simple to deep, combined with stories and games
🎬'Mathematics Walk Tour' is highly popular, each episode is 10 minutes, one concept per episode
🎬'The Story of Mathematics' is suitable for primary school students, using global travel + vivid cases to tell the origin of mathematics
