There are several temples in the Cave, and Perak Cave Temple is one of my Favourite. The location is easy to reach with car park facilities. The ambience is very nice, soothing and beautiful. Lay on the side of the lime stone, the beautiful pond in front of the temple with a statue of Avolokitesvara is welcoming everyone to visit this temple. The are several dogs residents in this temple and like to catch the monkeys around the temple. The Cave is huge with big Buddha statue at the main entrance, and inside another few Buddha statues, including Avolokitesvara statue as well. Public can do donation by light the lotus flower candle or just drop into the donation box, and the guy will ring the big bell. #ipoh #temple #malaysia #travel

I was surprised by the huge statues and paintings. Surprisingly the insides on the cave is rather chilly, you can feel a cold breeze in there. Overall there are around 350 stair steps that you can take to reach the pinnacle of the establishment, for the information of daredevils out there. After that proceed to go for a hike. Perak cave is magnificent religious structure, with unique paintings depicting the chinese mythology. Today it is still used as a place of worthship & offers unique hiking trail atop of the cave its located. The hiking path is old & can be challenging, but a top it is met with a breathtaking beautiful city view. #peraktourism

Day 1: A Walk Through History • Kellie’s Castle – Our first stop was this mysterious, unfinished mansion. The mix of Scottish and Moorish architecture made it a unique sight, and the eerie stories behind it added to the experience. We arrived early to avoid the heat, which was a great decision. • Perak Cave Temple – Next, we visited this stunning cave temple filled with intricate paintings and golden statues. We climbed to the top for a breathtaking panoramic view of the city—totally worth the effort! Day 2: Temples & Nature • Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple – This was one of our favorite spots! The temple inside the cave was impressive, but what really stood out was the peaceful garden hidden behind it. We took our time walking around and soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. • Ipoh Old Town – Before leaving, we explored the old town, checked out the famous street art, and, of course, had to try Ipoh’s famous white coffee and bean sprout chicken. The caves are beautiful inside with paintings on the walls and deities around them. The cave itself is very impressive. Not a super fancy big city but it is a small cute town embayed in mountains. For the 2-3 days trips, do not miss out the Perak Cave Temple as this is where you can climb up the temple to overlook the town view and Kek Lok Toong with the god statues inside the caves plus the paradise in the back mountain for you to chill and enjoy the boat riding. Not to mention there are some good cafe such as the Harry Potter themed platform cafe and some small small hidden cafe that offering good coffees and pastries. In term of the stay, The Heaven Suite is definitely the top 1 in my list as it offers more than just a hotel room. Swimming pool is the highlight because it just literally facing the majestic mountain view in front!! If you even have more budget for the trip, Banjaran Hotsping can be a good option considering the hot spring is available inside the hotel as well as the cave restaurant could provide you a memorable experience like once in a life time!! Not far from Ipoh, Sitiawan is somewhere you can pass by as well!! I am sure that the Tua Pek Temple that located there will amaze!!

Therefore, there are Buddhist paintings on the walls of the cave, Buddha statues lined up inside the cave, and a rest area with a good view halfway up the mountain. The Buddha statue itself is gold, and it seems like it has some kind of good fortune. It takes quite a bit of physical strength to see everything, but you don't have to climb the mountain, so why not just explore the cave?

Stairs are really steep near the top so be really careful when climbing/descending. It took me a comfortable 1 hour to go up and down.

Come to our surprise that it was not crowded and it was chilly inside the temple, as it is in a cave. We really enjoyed this cave. It is free parking and free entry. There is free tea and chairs to sit inside the cave to enjoy the cool from the heat outside. There are different parts of the cave you can visit with multiple shrines & there is also over 300 steps up to the top for a variety of different view points over Ipoh. Incredible cave temple. Never been to a Buddhist temple with paintings on the walls like this. So beautiful. #malaysia
