The moment I set foot on this land, I was captivated by the fresh sea breeze, the azure waters, and the fine sandy beaches. Driving along the coastline, the picturesque scenery was simply breathtaking. I visited several attractions in Zhoushan by car, each with its own unique charm. Putuo Mountain, a Buddhist sanctuary, with its ancient temples and melodious bell chimes, exudes tranquility and peace; Zhujiajian, with its soft, delicate sand and crystal-clear waters, is a perfect spot for fun and relaxation; and the quaint fishing villages scattered across the islands, with their rustic and serene ambiance, seem to make one forget the troubles of the world. The board water with little rocky reefs is a wonderful attraction for swimming-lovers. Swimming is only allowed in daytime between May and August. It will be more pleasant to walk on the beach barefoot. Stepping in the tender sand and letting the waves touch your feet, you will be more than comfortable and relaxed. This island is filled with temples and people come here to pray. Best day to visit is not on the weekend. We came on Thursday and it was already lots of people, but it was not packed and crowded. As we were leaving the island on Friday, people were starting to arrive and it was very crowded. To get around the island, it is not hard. There are shuttle buses that you can catch, and pay as you go. On the bus station, it tells you the next bus destination, so you won't be lost. Really enjoyed the view from the cable car where you can have a bird's eye view looking out the island. I took my mom to Mount Putuo for Buddhist worship and stayed at the newly opened Baiyuan Hotel Mount Putuo! Location: It's a 10-minute uphill walk to Fayu Temple from the hotel, and a 2-minute walk down to the "Dacheng Chan Temple" bus stop. If you're returning from the temples, it's quicker to get off at Dacheng and walk back to the hotel. There's a quiet beach accessible via a small path across from the hotel. The hotel is newly opened with beautiful, stylish design. I stayed in the loft tea room, which has a tea room on the second floor - very unique and elegant. (For larger groups, there are also room types with one bed downstairs and another bed in the loft upstairs.) The hotel offers excellent service and is very clean!
