Yongcheng Foguang Temple | Discover Three Tranquil Havens
| Discover three tranquil havens. Yongcheng Foguang Temple | Discover three tranquil havens
Hey friends! I recently visited Yongcheng Foguang Temple and was captivated by its tranquility and grandeur. Within this ancient temple, three places left a particularly deep impression on me, and I can't wait to share them with you~
The Mahavira Hall
Stepping into the Mahavira Hall, I was immediately enveloped by an atmosphere of solemnity and reverence. Inside, towering Buddha statues stand, their golden bodies gleaming, their compassionate eyes gazing upon every visitor. Candles and incense burn before the statues, and裊裊 curls of smoke rise, carrying people's prayers aloft. The surrounding murals, though weathered by time, still reveal delicate brushstrokes, depicting ancient Buddhist stories. Every detail evokes admiration for the wisdom and craftsmanship of the ancients. I stood there quietly, feeling a sense of inner peace, as if all my worries were dispelled by the sacred atmosphere.
The Chan Courtyard
Passing through the Mahavira Hall, I arrived at the Chan courtyard. Here, lush trees provide shade, flowers and plants flourish, and stone paths wind through the greenery. In the center of the courtyard is a small pond, its surface clear, reflecting the surrounding buildings and trees. Occasionally, small fish swim through the pond, creating ripples. Around the courtyard are the Chan rooms, their doors and windows rustic, emitting a faint scent of wood. I sat on a stone bench in the courtyard, a gentle breeze caressing my face, carrying the fragrance of flowers and the distant sound of chanting. Here, time seemed to slow down, allowing one to quiet the mind and contemplate the true meaning of life.
The Sutra Depository
The Sutra Depository is the intellectual treasure trove of Foguang Temple, housing a vast collection of Buddhist scriptures. Wooden bookshelves are filled with yellowed scriptures, each bearing profound Buddhist culture. Stepping into the Sutra Depository, a faint scent of ink fills the air. Although my understanding of Buddhist scriptures is limited, simply seeing these precious books evoked a sense of the power of knowledge. Here, some monks were engrossed in reading scriptures, their focused expressions inspiring reverence. I walked softly between the bookshelves, careful not to disturb the tranquility.
Each of these three places in Yongcheng Foguang Temple possesses a unique charm. Whether it's the grandeur of the Mahavira Hall, the tranquility of the Chan courtyard, or the profundity of the Sutra Depository, I gained much from my visit. If you're also seeking a sanctuary for the soul, consider visiting Yongcheng Foguang Temple and experiencing its unique charm~
