[Aichi Prefecture] A rare and spectacular spot where you can see cherry blossoms and autumn leaves at the same time
Do you know the mysterious place where you can see autumn leaves and cherry blossoms together? 👀
This spot in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, is a mysterious and beautiful space where two combinations that you never thought would ever go together coexist!
The cherry blossoms here bloom twice, in spring and autumn, so it becomes a mysterious sight like this 🙌🏽
It varies slightly from year to year, but the best time to see them is from mid-November to late November!
I went there around December last year, and although it was a little past its peak, it was still very beautiful!

[Aichi Prefecture] Cherry blossoms and autumn leaves together! Kawami Shikizakura Village
About 30 minutes by car from Korankei, a famous spot for autumn leaves in Aichi Prefecture.
The "Senmi Shikizakura Village" in the Obara district, which is in the same Toyota city as Korankei, is a rare spot in Japan where you can enjoy both cherry blossoms and autumn leaves in the fall.
Shikizakura are cherry blossoms that bloom twice a year, in spring and autumn.
There are about 10,000 Shikizakura trees planted in the Obara district,
and about 1,200 of them are planted in this satoyama.
Indeed, in the Obara district village, pale pink Shikizakura trees are blooming everywhere,
and you can enjoy a "cherry blossoms in full bloom" drive instead of a fall foliage drive, which is very charming.
It takes about 15 minutes from the entrance at the foot of the mountain to the top of Kawami Sakurayama. It takes less than an hour to go around the walking path, so it's perfect for a walk.
During the season, there is a small shop at the entrance and a temporary rest area to rest your feet.
Entry to the village is free, but during the cherry blossom festival, private cars are restricted and parking in the area is prohibited.
Therefore, you must park in the parking lot of Obara Fureai Park (Toyota City Hall Obara Branch Office) and take a free shuttle bus.
The parking fee is 1000 yen per day.
As an aside,
It seems that a black bear has been spotted here as well.
In addition, there is a local anime (manga) called "Shikizakura".

[Where to go] Can you see cherry blossoms in autumn?! A rare place in Japan where autumn leaves and cherry blossoms can be seen🌸🍁
Did you know that you can see cherry blossoms during the autumn leaves season? ?
Actually, there are cherry blossoms that bloom in autumn as well🌸
The most famous one is the "Shikizakura"
In the birthplace of Shikizakura, you can see a beautiful collaboration of cherry blossoms and autumn leaves🤩
That is "Kawami Shikizakura no Sato"
Autumn leaves and Shikizakura are mixed together on the slopes of low mountains along the national highway, and they grow together along the river🌲
The sight of the red of the maples and the white of the Shikizakura blending together to color the scenery in red and white is truly spectacular✨✨
It's a view I've never seen before, and my brain can't keep up!
It feels like I'm in a parallel world, but fortunately it's real😎
There are many Shikizakura blooming around here, so there are places where they collaborate not only with maples but also with ginkgo trees!
If you head towards Gifu on National Route 419, you can find them all over the place, so please enjoy them while driving!
That's all!
How about it!
One of the most spectacular views you will want to see at least once in your life✨
Go and see it this fall😆

This week’s real shot of the maple leaves in Xianglan River is red and ready for flushing.
🍁🍁🍁
To enjoy maple leaves in Nagoya, it’s the Koran River
The mountains, streams, and trees are so beautiful.
This time I come to Nagoya
In Shirakawago and Takayama, I bumped into late autumn
Check out the preview and it will show that it has been colored
So grab the tail of the journey
I rushed to Xianglan River temporarily
Because it’s a chartered car
I also stopped by Kawami Shikizakura (P8-12)
Finally, I still had plenty of time and went to the Toyota Museum.
Live broadcast below❗️with camera location sharing‼ ️
🍁Maple leaf status: The leaves in Xianglan Creek are nearly 40% red and ready for flushing😇Now they are red and green, with very few very red. Visually, the viewing effect will be better after this weekend. But some are still completely green, so the viewing period is estimated to be quite long.

🚩One day route:
Nagoya·Sakae 🚗1.1 hours → Kawami Shikizakura 🚗0.5 hours → Koran Creek 🚗0.5 hours → Toyota Museum 🚗0.5 hours → Nagoya·Sakae
✔️Kawami Shikizakura (P8-12) is not a big place (one hour is enough for a stroll), but it is quite rare that the cherry blossoms and maple leaves bloom at the same time🌸It is still worth a visit, and no tickets are required
✔️I didn’t have high hopes for the Toyota Museum, but I didn’t expect it to be very rewarding. From looms to cars, I was deeply shocked by the industrial leap🥹I took photos of all kinds of classic cars🤣
·
📌: I chose a chartered car for 10 hours a day, and I still have enough travel time at 3 points a day. If you use public transportation, you can only go to one Xianglan River alone (requiring 3 transfers, a 2-hour drive) and then go to the other two places by public transportation, which takes another 2 hours each, which is very frustrating. If there are many people, it is recommended to charter a car. For this trip, we rented a 7-seater car for the four of us, which cost 600+ per person, which is convenient and cost-effective👏

Sakura blooming during autumn
"OBARA" is a town which is famous for Shikizakura (四季桜 four-season cherry blossoms), It take about 2.30 hours from Nagoya. When you get off at Kaminigi , you have to walk about 10 minutes to reach the park. The landscape was so beautiful that you can't resist taking photos.
