#timetotravel Shi-Men Ting (also known as Ximending) is the hippy district in Taipei where all the youngsters gather. As can be seen in the rainbow street 🌈, it no doubt is Taipei’s largest LGBT district. You can also find one of the oldest architecture, Red House (红楼). The streets are filled with countless of clothing shops, photobooths, claw machines, restaurants, and most certainly street food. On paper, Shi-Men Ting is a daytime + nighttime pedestrian shopping district in Taipei. However, most shops are not open until noon, so I would recommend visiting at night. But do note Shi-Men Ting can get really crowded with visitors at night. Xingfutang - A Shout Out Worth Queuing For!

But when you are here, you should at least give this original Xingfutang a try. The boba here is so soft and chewy and it seems like it melts in your mouth. That explains the long queue! Also, you will able to see how the staff process the bubble tea, cook it and into your cup! They too have a set meal that comes with fried chicken where its sold everywhere. Well, in my own opinion, the chicken was just alright, nothing too fantastic. But for sure the bubble tea is a MUST go for! Please don't miss this out! Ask for the burnt brown sugar ones, you will be able to have some of the brown sugar crisp found in your drink too.

Queues can be insanely long, but they move rather fast.

Wanhua District, Taipei City, Taiwan 108 Taipei has been known as a food paradise where you can find a wide assortment of local cuisine. For cheap eats, please be sure to come to the Shi-men Ting street. The famous white bittergourd juice can be found there. I love the bitterness it gives, and enjoyed the drink. The famous fried chicken can also be found there. It is nicer than the one we had here. The chicken cutlet is always having long queue. There were many restaurants offering steam boats and grilled food. The best time to come taipei is during the fall season, as the hot spring season will begin during that season. #fallingforfall #tripblazers #family

Ximending is a bustling tourist destination. Ideal for shopaholics as there are so many shops and brands to buy from. This is also one of the choice for places to stay in taipei. Very accessible from the trains system and the hotels are affordable in this area. Restaurants are obvious in every corner so eating will not be a problem even late at night. Taipei Ximending is popular for its fashionable style. There are many young people walk on the street and I can feel the youth as well. 😊 Personally I think the food is not very tasty maybe because I not a street food lover. Taipei is a very beautiful and relaxing city, and it’s famous for its milk tea of course 😝 There are so many temples in Taipei that you can visit, as well as one of the tallest building in the world, Taipei 101. If you don’t want to go up, you can opt for the elephant hill instead, where you can see both the tower itself and the city. During the Japanese occupation period, the Governor's Office of Taiwan planned the open space near the west gate of Taipei City as the residence of Japanese people, called Ximending. Nowadays it has become a shopping destination, and some Taiwanese stars will meet here. Needless to say, Ximending is delicious. We usually come back here to go shopping or watch movies. What I particularly like is that there are clothes on this shopping street, there are fun crafts, and there are special special crafts, which are all for visitors to return home and buy a favorite gift. ###trip#

You can easily spend a few hours here just by shopping! There are live performances later in the evening as well. We recommend to drop by Ximending at night as it gets more livelier and you will see more stalls up by then! There are booths being set up at the entrance of Ximending during the weekends too~ Some of the famous food here are the Braised Pork Rice (卤肉饭) and of course, the bubble teas! Taipei favourite Shaved Ice Desert

Number 17, Hanzhong St, Wanhua District, Taipei City, Taiwan 108 One of the must eat at Taipei is the shaved ice. Every time I visit the Shi menting at Taipei, I will definitely try out the shaved ice desert from the ximen mango shaved ice stall. You can also request for ice cream to be topped on top of the shaved ice. It was really a heavenly experience having a bowl of cold shaved ice with so much flavours, under the hot weather in Taipei. There are many flavours to choose from. As a fruit lover, I will opt for fruit flavour shaved ice. The portion of fruits are generous. There were kiwi mango and strawberries. It was so flavorful and healthy. I will strongly recommend the fruit flavour and the chocolate flavour. Do try it out when you are at Shi menting area. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers

The famed TOILET RESTAURANT of #ximending, #taipei. 🍽 I saw this restaurant all over the news a few years back, so when I went to #taiwan, I made sure that I pay this restau a visit. They serve their soup in a Toilet seat. Their desserts are served in a Squatter plate. Their tables are fashioned from a handwash drainage. Very creative! It was a unique experience. This was my first ever travel, Taiwan. I stayed at ximending since I LOVE NIGHT MARKETS ♥️😍 Taiwan is such a beautiful place.You don't need to spend to much money to visit here. All you need to do is pick a hotel that is near train stations, book a great deal tour ahead of time, get a wifi and you're all set! foods are not that expensive either. My pocket money was 200$ (hotel fee not included). spent 50usd for the tour which if im not mistaken, we visited 3 or 4 tourist spots my favorites are yehliu and lantern festival. Then i visited the zoo, rode cablecar and ofcourse visited temples. Its really worth it. and my 4 days stay isn't enough so im planning to go back. You see, travelling to other countries doesn't mean you have to be rich. All you have to do is study the place first before booking a flight. Have a list of things you want to do or experience.
