Omaezaki Lighthouse in Omaezaki City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is located on the border between Suruga Bay and Enshu Nada Sea, and was completed in 1874 by Richard Henry Brunton, known as the "father of lighthouses." It is one of only 16 "climbable lighthouses" in the country, and from the top of the lighthouse you can see the beautiful Pacific Ocean, the Izu Peninsula, and even Mt. Fuji. There are many things that adults can learn, such as how nuclear power generation works, how to use energy, and disaster preparedness. While some of the exhibits are aimed at children, there is actually a lot of content that adults can enjoy too! Admission is free, and there are theaters, dioramas, and quiz-style exhibits, so I lost track of time and was engrossed in the exhibits🤣 I stopped by during my trip, but it's a spot that I'm really glad I went to. 📍It takes around 2 hours from Hamamatsu station to get to Omaezaki. We travelled to Omaezaki because Jazzbo, a surf shop, was hosting what they themed as Kaizoku Matsuri, meaning a pirates festival, and most of the participants were water sport lovers. The event had a lot to offer including local food stalls, individual stage performances and the main event of the day which was a live music by Keison (and I am a big fan). Omaezaki has vast green tea plantations. And you find a tea shop every corner of the town, so we enjoyed tea moments and matcha 🍵 sweets. The Hamaoka Nuclear Power Museum is another interesting place we visited and we were surprised to find a mask collection in one section of the gallery. #surfing #shizuoka #Omaezaki #watersports

Japan is always the most popular destination. however, the best spot to visit in Japan is rural area. I recommend omaezaki City. it's about 2 hours from Tokyo, but can feel a cozy atmosphere. Food there is great! enjoy sea food! Residents there are always super kind. I highly recommend that everyone interact with them. There is a nuclear power plant. they have a pr center in it, so you can also learn Japanese nuclear history at the same time!

Previously, 60% of Japan's electricity was generated by thermal power plants and 30% by nuclear power plants. However, because nuclear power plants use "nuclear" fuel, there has been a long-standing opposition movement, and since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, voices calling for the suspension and abolition of nuclear power plants have grown louder, and several nuclear power plants have been shut down, with 80% now being generated by thermal power plants and 1% being generated by nuclear power plants. Shiosai Bridge in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is a bicycle and pedestrian bridge that spans the mouth of the Kikugawa River that runs through the prefecture, and is the longest suspended deck bridge in Japan. It is a very rare 4-span continuous deck type PC suspended deck bridge, and there are few examples of this in the world. Omaezaki, an unknown small city in Japan, is located in the southernmost part of Shizuoka Prefecture, facing the vast Pacific Ocean. The relatively famous one here is the Omaezaki Lighthouse.
