About 15- 20 minutes from the main city Kota Bharu. About 1 hour to Besut Terengganu. Traveling to Thailand, Kelantan or Terengganu? The only airport in Kelantan is one of the busy airport in Malaysia as Kelantanese is one of the most travelled citizens outside to Kuala Lumpur or any cities in Malaysia for work. Plus, this city near to Thailand and some people would choose here by flight to go to Terengganu. The airport is in Pengkalan Chepa and the airport is now expanding bigger with some construction is ongoing to make it bigger (to date Feb 2022). My favourite place, my sweet hometown. I'm glad that I going back to Kelantan after so long due to restriction movement (PKP). There are so many beautiful place in Kelantan and of course much more cheap than lifestyle in Kuala Lumpur. Must visit places if you come to Kelantan, please go to Pengkalan Kubor. There are so many sweets, chocolates, spices and more. This airport was recently opened in May 2024, with 11 total gates rather than before was only 3 gates. It also has more restaurants but the one caught my eyes was Nasken coffee located in the departure area at gate 11 (ground level). The cleanliness was definitely very hygienic as it is newly opened, I hope it stays like that.
