#newyearadventure The only Chinese temple in Brunei, located on prime location in front of daily market . It’s very neat and clean. Easily accessible. .It was built in the 1960's and interesting and worth a look. Free to visit and you can keep your shoes on, it's got some interesting tile work to see, plus some interesting statues. Heard from the local that one of the Sultans hid inside this temple whilst being chased during war period and the people helped him, therefore it's very meaningful to the generations, therefore this temple will definitely not be demolished no matter what. #brunei #bandarseribegawan

#celebratewithtrip A lovely little temple in the heart of Bandar Seri Begawan, just opposite the open air market. Beautifully colourful and ornate with a very attractive exterior and gorgeous iconography and altars inside. It’s very neat and clean. Easily accessible. The temple is apparently built in 1960 and is the oldest Chinese temple in Brunei. #brunei #couplestrip

I was lucky enough to be here during a lunchtime, just before Friday Prayers when the city comes to a stand still, so this temple was particularly busy, presumably used by worshippers on their break whilst Muslims are at the mosques. Anyway, it’s a peaceful, pretty place and has some lovely decorations. Of particular note are the beautiful panels on the side walls, towards the back. #givethanks #givethanks
