Vivid Traditional Culture Encountered at the National Folk Children's Museum
Yesterday afternoon, I visited the National Folk Children's Museum and had a special time vividly experiencing Korean traditional culture. Although the museum was created for children, the spaces that reproduced traditional life and play were interesting enough for adults as well. In particular, the exhibition space that reproduced the old market showed the life of the time in detail, making me feel as if I was traveling through time.
📌 Points for solo travelers
Recommended experience: Imagine everyday life in the Joseon Dynasty while looking at traditional items in the old market corner
Hidden spot: A small shelter on one side of the museum → A great place to take pictures with traditional props
Recommended snack: A set of warm jujube tea and rice cake sold at a nearby cafe (7,000 won)
🚨 Notes
The experience zone is operated for children, so it may be crowded, so we recommend visiting leisurely
Photography is prohibited for some exhibits (check the notice)
Check the museum's operating hours in advance and visit
The National Folk Children's Museum is a place where you can learn traditional culture in a fun and easy way, and I was able to vividly experience the lifestyle of the Joseon Dynasty. I want to visit again when a special experience program is held next time! If I have a younger sibling, I want to come with them!!🌸

The fun of tradition at the National Folk Museum of Korea Children's Museum
This afternoon, I visited the National Folk Museum of Korea Children's Museum and had a unique experience learning about traditional culture. Although it is a space for children, it was interesting because I could experience traditional games and living culture firsthand. In particular, I was impressed by the fact that I could touch the living tools used by people in the past in a space that recreated a traditional house.
📌 Points for solo travelers
Recommended experience: Try playing Yutnori and Jegichagi at the traditional game experience zone
Hidden spot: A small garden inside the museum → A great place to take pictures while quietly contemplating
Recommended snack: A set of warm citron tea and rice cake sold at a tea house near the museum (5,000 won)
🚨 Notes
Since there are many children, it is essential to watch quietly
Experience zones may require advance reservations
No flash when taking pictures
At around 4:30, I finished the day by taking pictures with the sunset-colored traditional house reproduction space in the background. The phrase written on the guide, "Tradition is the key to opening the future," lingered deeply in my heart. I want to visit again in the spring when the flowers bloom in the outdoor garden! 🌸

The Beauty of Korea Encountered at the National Folk Museum of Korea's Traditional Culture Learning Center
This afternoon, I visited the National Folk Museum of Korea's Traditional Culture Learning Center and felt the depth of Korean traditional culture. The interior was decorated in a traditional Hanok style, and there were various experience programs prepared, which was interesting. In particular, I was able to experience the traditional beauty of Korea firsthand by wearing a hanbok and taking pictures at the traditional costume experience corner.
📌 Points for solo travelers
Recommended experience: Traditional craft making program → You can make your own props
Hidden spot: Small garden behind the learning center → A good place to contemplate in a quiet atmosphere
Recommended snack: Handmade citron tea and rice cake set sold at a tea house near the museum (6,000 won)
🚨 Notes
Advance reservations are required for experience programs
Quiet viewing inside is required (consideration for other visitors)
Photography is prohibited for some exhibits
At around 3 o'clock, I finished the day by taking pictures of the traditional architecture and garden scenery bathed in the sunset. The phrase written on the guide, "Tradition is a bridge connecting to the future," lingered deeply in my heart. Maybe around May? I want to visit the garden again in spring when the flowers are in full bloom! 🌸
