[2025 Taishan Attraction] Travel Guide for Wang Fu Zhou (Updated Jun)

There is a beautiful island called Xiachuan Island in Taishan, Jiangmen. September happens to be the season with abundant seafood harvest and good weather, so we planned a two-day and one-night trip. In general, the experience is excellent. Here are some tips to share and help you avoid pitfalls! Transportation in Area 1: Purchase a package ticket (including round-trip boat, island bus and tickets) on the official account "Chuandao Tourism Network" at least 1 day in advance, drive to "Shanzui Port", take a boat for about 40 minutes to "Xiachuan Island Duwan Wharf", and take a bus for about 30 minutes to "Wangfuzhou Tourist Area" after getting off the boat. The homestay is in the scenic area. There are basically no Didi taxis on the island, and almost every restaurant and hotel has electric cars. For free pick-up and drop-off, we should proactively talk to them about the pick-up and drop-off issues. Accommodation in District 2: Because we were traveling in the off-season, we saw a good review on Meituan and called to ask. The price was definitely much cheaper than buying on the spot or on Meituan. We chose "Taishan Kaiyi Seaview B&B". We rented a sea view room. The environment and hygiene were good. The boss and his wife were very nice. They took the initiative to drive to the scenic area to pick us up and take us to the B&B. They would recommend hotels, car rentals and other services. There was no mandatory consumption. District 3 Food: I would recommend "He Yi Restaurant" and "Hai Lan Xuan Restaurant". They are restaurants opened by locals. A meal for 9 people only costs about 450 yuan. The menu is rich, with freshly caught and cooked mussels, snails, mantis shrimps, various fish, crabs and other seafood. There are also sweet and sour spare ribs, stir-fried free-range chicken with ginger and scallions, etc. They are fresh and taste good, but these two restaurants are not on Meituan, so many people will just look at other restaurants on Meituan and go there to eat. Xiaochuan Island is a pleasant place for tourism and leisure. Sometimes when it's too leisurely, I feel like giving myself something to do, so I rented a motorcycle with my friends and raced all the way to the top of Windmill Hill. Navigate to Shanzui Port Terminal. 2 Transportation: Park your car at the pier parking lot, 30-40 yuan a day. Don't drive to the island. Not only is it expensive, but you will also miss a lot of things. There are electric motorcycles for rent everywhere on the island for 60-100 yuan a day, and pink convertible jeeps for 200 yuan/2 hours. It is so comfortable to ride or drive along the beach. ③Tickets: Buy online in advance or on site, the package price of 210 is very cost-effective (bring your ID card). Includes round-trip boat tickets (1 hour, 45 minutes by boat), ferry bus (one boat, 20 minutes by boat, don't rush to catch the bus after getting off the boat), and tickets to Wangfuzhou scenic spot. No queues in off-season. 4. Choose Shangchuan Island or Xiachuan Island: Both are great. But the package ticket for Xiachuan Island was 210, and the package ticket for Shangchuan Island was 185, so I went to Xiachuan Island based on the principle that you get what you pay for. 5 Accommodation: There are many B&Bs and hotels on the island, and the quality is similar, none of them are particularly high-end. The holiday hotel I stayed in was newly renovated and a bit better, costing 350 per night. The hotels are very close to the beach. 6 Time and weather: I think the most important things when going to an island! May 1st to National Day is the peak season, especially during the short holidays, don’t join in the crowds. March to April, October to December are the off-seasons. Although many water activities are not available, there are basically all the fun and food to eat, and the temperature is just right, neither hot nor cold. There are fewer people, lower prices and a better experience. The most important thing is to go on sunny or cloudy days. You will miss a lot of scenery on cloudy days. Don’t go on rainy or typhoon days. 7. Food: Affordable seafood is everywhere on the street. The two of us had four dishes for 220 yuan. ⑧ Fun: take photos at Wangfuzhou Beach and coconut grove, water sports, watch the sunset at the pier beach at the end of Dong'ao Village, watch the sunrise at Miyan in the morning (remember to check the sunrise schedule), rent a car and go for a drive on the beach (you have to rent a car to watch the sunrise and sunset, it is recommended to rent an electric motorcycle), buy fish from fishermen in the evening, rent a boat to go out to sea, catch seafood, eat barbecue on the beach (the cuttlefish sausage is amazing), the most beautiful beach is at Niutang Bay (you can have breakfast and watch the beach at "Zhu Tou Mei" on the way back after watching the sunrise).
