This lesser-known temple is still active, adding a spiritual ambiance to the ruins. We were struck by the sight of the headless Buddha statues surrounding the central stupa, a reminder of the temple’s long history dating back to the early Ayutthaya period. The iconic row of lion statues, or Singha, guarding the stupa, adds to its grandeur. Despite the heat, we enjoyed exploring the large reclining Buddha draped in bright orange cloth, a symbol of serenity amidst the ruins. The shade from the temple structures provided brief moments of relief from the scorching sun, allowing us to fully appreciate the peaceful atmosphere.
