ItineraryCheck USA New Mexico Bandelier National Monument: Alcove House Cliff Dwelling Climb
#itinerarycheck Bandelier is the quieter cousin of Mesa Verde and the Alcove House climb is the one thing that separates it from a flat ruin stroll. I entered from White Rock (take NM 4, not the GPS-recommended back route through Santa Fe County roads that wash out) and parked at the visitor center lot, which fills by 10 am in summer—arrive at 8:30. Entry is $25/vehicle, card accepted, America the Beautiful pass works. The main Pueblo Loop is 1.4 miles round trip on packed dirt past talus houses and petroglyphs, but the detour to Alcove House is the point: from the loop junction it is another 0.5 mile along Frijoles Creek to the base, then 140 ft up a series of four ladders and carved steps into the cliff alcove where a reconstructed kiva sits 100 ft above the canyon floor.
The ladders are fixed, metal, and wide enough but exposed—if you have knee issues or fear of heights, this is a hard no. I climbed it in 8 minutes up, longer down because a family with a toddler was frozen halfway and rangers had to coach them. Inside the alcove you can stand in the kiva ring and look straight down the ladders to the creek—it is cooler up there even in July, and the masonry ledge where the ancestral Puebloans built is still intact under the reconstructed roof. No railings at the top edge, so do not let kids run.
Frijoles Canyon has no potable water except at the visitor center, so carry two bottles; the creek is seasonal and not drinkable. Tsankawi section (separate entrance 3 miles away) is a 1.5-mile mesa-top walk with petroglyph trails and no ladders—good counterpoint if Alcove House is closed for wind. Bandelier closes Alcove House entirely in high wind or lightning, which is common in afternoon monsoons July–August, so do it first thing. White Rock has a café and an ATM; Los Alamos 15 minutes north has full groceries and card-everywhere services.
Itinerary-wise, Bandelier is a half-day from Santa Fe (45 minutes) or Taos (2 hours). Pair it with a late-afternoon stop at the Valles Caldera entrance on the way back, but do not try to add Puye Cliff Dwellings same day—different permit, different tribe, different road system. Did anyone else find the Alcove ladders easier going down than up, or is that just me rationalizing the adrenaline?

Seven Maidens Waterfall
I had the opportunity to relax during the holidays in Saraburi Province and stopped by the Chet Sao Noi Waterfall. The air was nice, there was a lot of water, and the trees were green. It was refreshing to see. You can bring food in to eat. The entrance fee is 20 baht per person.

Seven Maidens Waterfall, Saraburi
I just had the opportunity to go to the Chet Sao Noi Waterfall in Muak Lek District, Saraburi Province for the first time. It is a waterfall with seven levels. The levels where you can swim are levels 1, 2, and 4. Each level has a different beauty. When I went, the water was very clear. The park provides great facilities, including officers at the checkpoints, safety measures, and clean restrooms and showers. It is also very convenient to travel to. It is not far from Bangkok. You will not be disappointed if you go with friends or family.

Seven Sisters Waterfall on a Hot Day
Namtok Chet Sao Noi National Park is one of the most suitable tourist attractions for a one-day trip. We went in the middle of May. The weather was quite hot and humid. It looked like it was going to rain, but it didn't. But when we reached the waterfall, we felt the cool mist. It was very cool. The water was clear and flowing all the way. But you have to bring your own fan because it's very out of stock. I asked the vendors at the entrance of the park and they were all out of stock!
The water was cool and clear. The sound of the waterfall was pleasant. It's not far from Bangkok and its vicinity. It's very suitable.

One day trip ☀️ Escape the heat to the waterfall
Address - Namtok Chet Sao Noi, Saraburi Province
Atmosphere/Location - Shady, cool, not many people (in the picture is Sunday)
Highlights - Green-blue waterfall, large
Average price per person - 50-200฿
Score - 9/10 I would like to deduct for the bathroom, I wish it was cleaner and more adequate
🌥️ Escape the heat to a waterfall, it really exists. Tired of the sea, this time I will go to a waterfall
🚘 Travel from Bangkok - Saraburi, almost 3 hours, heading to Namtok Chet Sao Noi National Park. Because at first, we stopped at Mok Lek Waterfall (free entrance), but because there were a lot of people, we had to change suddenly until we found Namtok Chet Sao Noi
💴 Park entrance fee, car 30 baht / motorcycle 20 baht
Adult entrance fee 20 baht / child 10 baht / senior citizen 60 years old and above free
🍝 Lots of food, convenient to choose
⛔️Open for viewing: 08.00-17.00 hrs.
In summary💛 Overall good, not many people, there are many places to play in the water.
Shady and cool, if anyone wants to escape to the waterfall, I recommend this place.

Namtok Chet Sao Noi National Park is mostly mountainous and interspersed with plains. The area is quite dry with shallow topsoil. The elevation is between 180-402 meters above mean sea level. The highest point of the area is Chokchai Phatthana, which is 402 meters above mean sea level. The next highest point is the mountain range in the middle of the area and the mountain range in Ban Dong Nam Cha, which is 386 and 359 meters above mean sea level, respectively. The foothills on the eastern and northern sides of the area are adjacent to Khlong Muak Lek, which has water flowing throughout the year and flows into the Pa Sak River in Wang Muang District. In the central part of the area, there are small streams flowing through, such as Huai Laeng, which is a stream that only has water flowing during the rainy season. #National park worth visiting
