💜 ARMY Guide: Flying to Kuala Lumpur for the BTS concert ✈️
Hey, ARMY! 💜 Did you buy a ticket to the BTS concert in Kuala Lumpur on Trip.com? Congratulations, it's going to be legendary! 🎉🔥
If this is your first trip abroad, you're alone, or you're just nervous, here's a quick cheat sheet. 📝 I've compiled the most important information: from visas to hotels, taking into account the features of Trip.com packages. Let's get planning! ✈️🥳
1. Visa and entry (for Russia) 🗺️
Visa: Not required if traveling for less than 30 days. 👍
Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months. 📑
☝🏼Important: 3 days before departure, be sure to complete the digital MDAC application on the official Malaysian website and save the resulting QR code. 📲
▫️▫️▫️
2. Plane ✈️
When to book: Right now! Prices will skyrocket closer to the concert. 🚀 Choose convenient layovers no more than 5 hours apart (find tickets on Trip.com, of course). 🎫
Lifehack: Arrive at least a day before the show to recover from the flight and avoid any potential flight delays. ⏰ If you're planning to fly the next day, it's best to fly in the evening—not in the morning!—you might oversleep!
▫️▫️▫️
3. Accommodation (we'll tailor it to your Trip.com ticket) 🏨
📌 If you have a "Ticket + Hotel" package: It already includes one night in a luxury hotel. 🛏️
Let's say we're traveling for 5 days and have a concert in the middle:
🔸Economy Option: For the remaining days "before and after" the concert, book a cheaper hotel (or two different ones). On the day of the concert, transfer to the festival hotel and leave your large bags in the storage room of the "cheap" hotel. 🧳
🔸Comfort Option (and less hassle 😁): Book one great hotel for the entire trip. Yes, you'll pay twice for one night, but you won't have to lug around suitcases and negotiate with hotel staff about luggage storage. 👋
📌 If you have the "Ticket + Entertainment" package: Look for accommodation for the entire trip. Choose the KLCC or Bukit Bintang areas, which are close to LRT/MRT stations. 🚇

4. Entertainment and Merch 🛍️
Timing: If your package already includes tours, or you want to see the Petronas Twin Towers and Batu Caves, plan it only for the days before or after the concert. 🏛️
Merch: If you plan to buy official merch, keep a close eye on Weverse. It might go on sale the day before the concert. Plan your purchase in advance. Either way, you won't be left without an ARMY bomb! 🔮😌
Day X: On the day of the show, no long walks! Get some sleep, eat well, and head to the stadium early. 🏟️
▫️▫️▫️
5. Internet (eSIM) 🌐
Buy an eSIM in advance (directly on Trip.com). 🛒Install it at home, and in Malaysia, simply activate your profile in settings and turn on "Data Roaming" – internet will be available immediately. ⚡
▫️▫️▫️
6. Navigation and translators📱
Maps: Google Maps works perfectly in Kuala Lumpur (it shows accurate train and bus routes). Just in case, download an offline city package. 🗺️
Language: Locals speak excellent English (but not me 🤣), but just in case, download language packs from Google Translate (English, Malay, and Russian, or your native language) so they work offline. The camera translation feature is a real lifesaver when reading signs and menus! 📸🗣️
Transportation and taxis: Be sure to download the Grab app—it's like the local Uber. Taxis are inexpensive, and you can pay the driver in cash. 🚕 If you're planning on using public transportation, get a Touch 'n Go (TnG) card right at the airport. Load it with some of the money you just exchanged. Google how to get to your hotel from the airport (by KLIA Express or bus) in advance—and off you go! 💳🚌
▫️▫️▫️
7. Company 🫂
If you managed to buy a ticket but your friend didn't, don't worry. You're not alone! 60,000 other people could also be looking for company for a fun time in Kuala Lumpur. 😂 Post about looking for a companion on Threads or X (Twitter). We're sure to find someone! 💜✨
▫️▫️▫️
8. Money 💵
Cash: Bring dollars or yuan. Plan on at least $50 per day (a "student" budget) for basic food and transportation, and at least $150 per day for those who live life to the fullest and plan to live on water and buckwheat when they return home. 🍔💸
Bank Card: Have your international card ready in advance (relevant for tourists from Russia). 💳
Exchange: Exchange your first $100 right at the airport for your starting expenses, and the rest at exchange offices in the city (search for "Money Changer" on maps; the rates are much better there). 🔄

9. 🔴 Main taboos in Malaysia (a Muslim country!) 🕌
Clothing: No overly revealing clothing, especially in places of worship. 👗 Plan your concert attire in advance, keeping it within Malaysian regulations.
Behavior: Behave decently. Keep your feelings to yourself. 🤫
Alcohol: Don't drink alcohol on the streets or in parks. 🍺
Shoes: Always remove your shoes when entering places of worship and mosques. 👟
See you at the concert! 🇰🇷💜💃🏽
