Floating above Osaka: Umeda Sky Building’s floating garden observatory 🌆✨ Step into the future of Osaka’s skyline! 🏙️ In this video, I take you inside the breathtaking Umeda Sky Building – one of Japan’s most iconic architectural marvels. From the glass-enclosed elevator ride to the thrilling open-air Floating Garden Observatory, you’ll see why this spot is a must-visit for cityscape lovers. Watch as we cross the “escalator in the sky” suspended between two towers, and take in 360° panoramic views of Osaka – from the Yodo River to the distant mountains. Whether you come for sunset or night lights, the magic is real. ✨ Fun Fact 1: The Umeda Sky Building’s two main towers are connected by a donut-shaped observation deck – and they’re actually not perfectly aligned! The connecting escalator tilts to match the shift, making it feel like you’re floating. ✨ Fun Fact 2: The building was designed with eco-architecture in mind – the atrium acts as a natural cooling chimney, reducing the need for air conditioning even in Osaka’s humid summers. 3 Recommended Travel Tips for Visiting: 1. Go just before sunset – Buy your ticket 30–40 minutes before sunset to catch the golden hour and the dazzling night lights without leaving the deck. 2. Bring a coin for the “Kinetsu” lock – Near the observatory, there’s a popular spot to attach a “love lock” or make a wish. Vending machines nearby sell heart-shaped locks. 3. Visit the basement “Takimi Koji” – After sunset, head down to the retro-themed restaurant floor designed like 1920s Osaka. Great food and atmosphere away from crowds. 📍 Location: Umeda Sky Building, Osaka 🎟️ Tip: Book tickets online via trip.com to skip the line. #UmedaSkyBuilding #OsakaJapan #FloatingGardenObservatory #TripDotComMoments #JapanTravelGuide

Address: 1-4-6-102 Senrioka, Settsu City, Osaka Prefecture Just a 1-minute walk from the JR Senrioka Station West Exit. The west side of Senrioka Station is currently undergoing redevelopment with new high-rise apartments and shops, making the area look very vibrant. This restaurant in Senrioka has been around for a while and is a hit with the locals. You can enjoy delicious pasta and pizza here. It felt like prices have gone up slightly since my last visit... Today's order: Fresh Pasta Lunch Set (for 2) – 3,080 yen (tax incl.) It comes with two appetizers, a choice of three pastas (served on a large platter for two), plus dessert and drinks for two. The pasta choices are cream-based, Bolognese, or oil-based. It seems the options rotate daily, except for the Bolognese. We went with the Bolognese this time. The appetizers were different from our last visit, so the menu isn't always the same—it's clearly well-thought-out each time 😋 As for the Bolognese, the fresh pasta was perfectly chewy and absolutely delicious 😊 Since customers were streaming in one after another, I definitely recommend making a reservation 🤭

Osaka has plenty of busy places, but sometimes it’s nice to see a quieter side of the city. Yodogawa Riverside Park stretches along the Yodo River, with wide open spaces, walking paths, bridges and views of Osaka in the distance. Bring some food, walk along the river, sit on the grass or just watch the trains passing by. In the late afternoon, the light gets softer and the whole place feels even more relaxing. No sightseeing checklist. Just a few hours by the river. Sometimes, this is all you need from a day in Osaka. 🌿 #slowtraveling #japan #osaka

It is advisable to have your return ticket and proof of accommodation ready in case of random checks, but the overall process is usually quick and seamless.

Waldorf Astoria Osaka|A luxurious experience overlooking the entire city from the clouds ✨ First Impression · The ceremonial grandeur of the lobby 🌟 The moment I stepped through the door, I was completely stunned. The high-ceilinged lobby resembled a modern art museum, with crystal chandeliers cascading from the dome, light flowing between metal and marble. When checking in at the front desk, the staff handed me a warm cup of matcha and a damp towel. Feeling the warmth of the tea instantly eased half of my travel fatigue. Nearby, an elderly Japanese gentleman was chatting with the concierge in the Kansai dialect. That relaxed yet refined atmosphere immediately made me realize: this is not just a hotel, but a carefully crafted living space. Room Details · Every square meter tells a story 🛋️ This time I stayed in a high-floor corner room. Upon entering, I saw a full wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, with Osaka Castle and distant mountains like a moving painting. Waldorf Astoria’s bedding is famously comfortable; lying down, my body was gently supported. The pillows came in soft and firm options—I chose a softer one and slept until naturally waking up. The bathroom featured black and white marble with a double sink design, and the amenities were from Aesop. The herbal scent when washing my hands lifted my mood unexpectedly. The biggest surprise was a Nespresso coffee machine hidden in the walk-in closet, with a full range of capsules. Brewing a cup in the morning and standing by the window watching the city slowly wake up is a memory that still makes me smile. Dining Experience · Your taste buds are taken seriously 🍣 Breakfast was at the "La Baie" restaurant, served in a semi-buffet style. Don’t miss their Eggs Benedict—the hollandaise sauce was incredibly smooth, and instead of regular ham, it was layered with smoked salmon, creating rich flavors in every bite. I also tried the Japanese breakfast; the miso soup was freshly made, the rice grains were distinct, and the side dishes changed daily. The rooftop bar "The Bar" is a must-visit at dusk. Order their special cocktail "Yodo River," sit by the window waiting for the sunset as the sky shifts from orange-pink to deep blue, and the lights of Umeda gradually turn on. At that moment, I felt every penny was well spent. Location & Surroundings · Feel the city’s pulse on foot 🚶‍♀️ The hotel is located in the Umeda area, about a 7-8 minute walk to JR Osaka Station. The underground passage connects directly to Hankyu Department Store and Lucua Mall, so you don’t need an umbrella on rainy days. There’s a convenience store and drugstore right downstairs. If you crave something at night, grab some oden and enjoy it by the window with the night view—a little luxury just for yourself. Shinsaibashi is two subway stops away, and USJ is about a 30-minute trip with one transfer. The location strikes a balance between bustling and peaceful—right in the heart of the city but not overwhelmed by noise. Practical Tips · A few small tips 💡 It’s recommended to book a room with breakfast included, as buying breakfast separately costs about 6000 yen per person, which isn’t very cost-effective. When checking in, politely ask if you can be assigned a high-floor room—the view difference is significant. The hotel’s pool and gym are on the upper floors and require advance reservation; remember to bring your swimsuit as on-site options are limited. If it’s your birthday or anniversary, notify them by email in advance—they will prepare a small cake and a handwritten card, making the occasion extra special. Also, the underground shopping streets around Umeda Station are like a maze and can be confusing for first-timers. Look for signs to "Grand Front Osaka" and pass through there for the most straightforward route. Why Stay Here · Why it’s worth staying at least once 💎 Osaka has no shortage of great hotels, but Waldorf Astoria embodies "thoughtfulness" to the core. It’s not flashy luxury, but every detail makes you feel respected and cared for. From the doorman remembering your name to the restaurant staff recalling what coffee you ordered yesterday, these small touches build an irreplaceable sense of belonging. If you want to treat yourself in Osaka, this place won’t disappoint. It’s not just a stop on your journey, but a part of the trip worth savoring. 🌸

At the heart of Osaka, the "Water City," the shimmering waves of the Dojima River intertwine with the sharp edges of skyscrapers to create a flowing masterpiece, and the Four Seasons Hotel Osaka is the sky palace suspended above this painting. It is not only a harbor for travelers but also an immersive art exhibition about light, water, and Japanese aesthetics. 🏙️ Stunning Views: A Water City Scroll in the Clouds The hotel is located on the upper floors (28th to 37th) of the One Dojima Building, perfectly embodying Osaka’s "Water City" character. Whether curled up on the sofa in a corner room or soaking in the deep bathtub by the window, your view will be filled with unobstructed scenes of the Dojima River, Nakanoshima Oasis, and the dazzling skyline. At dusk, the setting sun casts golden bands over the distant mountains and the Yodo River’s surface; at night, below you flows a river of car lights, while the Umeda district’s neon lights twinkle in the distance. Every floor-to-ceiling window frames a dynamic ukiyo-e painting. 🎋 Unique Design: A Modern Interpretation of a Traditional Ryokan The design is a "spatial narrative" created by top teams including Curiosity and Simplicity. · Gensui Floor (GENSUI): Located on the 28th floor, it is a "hotel within a hotel." Guests remove their shoes and walk barefoot on warm tatami mats, facing shoji screens and low seating. The designers use minimalist black, white, and gray tones with natural materials to recreate the "wabi-sabi" atmosphere of a traditional Japanese inn, while cleverly integrating the smooth lines of modern living. · Public Spaces: The lobby pays tribute to Osaka Castle with rugged stone walls, and the wooden lattice casts shadows full of Zen spirit; Bar Bota on the 37th floor features a massive circular stone bar and floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a modern and dramatic social space. 🛏️ Guest Rooms: Private Dreams Woven with Light and Shadow The 175 rooms are like 175 exquisite "Japanese-style boxes." · Western-style Rooms: Featuring light wood and linen tones, high ceilings create a sense of openness, and corner rooms offer 270-degree panoramic views capturing Osaka’s bustling cityscape. · Gensui Rooms: A true cultural immersion. Sleep on luxurious mattresses atop tatami platforms, enjoy tea in the exclusive SABO tea lounge, and even the bathrooms are equipped with Japanese bathing stools, turning bathing into a scenic ritual. 🍽️ Dining: A Culinary Journey in the Clouds on the 37th Floor At 100 meters high, your taste buds can travel the world. · Konanshun: A Cantonese restaurant on the 37th floor specializing in exquisite dim sum and tableside Peking duck, with breathtaking city night views outside the window. · Sushi L'Abysse: A creative Omakase collaboration between a French chef and sushi master, blending Eastern and Western flavors. · Bar Bota: A sky-high bar where bartenders craft special cocktails using Japanese whisky and local herbs, the perfect spot to enjoy sunsets and night views. · Jardin & Farine: A French restaurant and bakery on the first floor offering sunny brunches and croissants, a gentle way to awaken your morning. 🏊 Entertainment & Leisure: A Healing Oasis in the Sky The 36th floor is the hotel’s "energy core." · Sky Pool: A 16-meter indoor heated pool that seems to merge with the sky outside the window, swimming here feels like floating among the clouds. · Spa & Ofuro: In addition to professional treatment rooms, the hotel uniquely offers a traditional Japanese public bath (Ofuro) and sauna. Gazing at the skyscrapers through the steam is the ultimate "ice and fire" experience. As night falls and the city lights outside twinkle like stars, you may forget where you are. The Four Seasons Hotel Osaka delicately weaves travelers’ dreams into the city’s sky, making every stay a tender ukiyo-e painting in your memory.

Hey guys! Just took the bullet train into Shin-Osaka and had to share. Honestly, the view from the train window right before you pull into the station is super cool. It’s this awesome mix of retro Japanese billboards and modern skyscrapers, which gives it a really neat vibe. If you’re riding the Shinkansen on a sunny morning (especially heading towards Tokyo), definitely try to grab a window seat. When the train crosses the Yodogawa River, the view of the blue sky, the green riverbanks, and the skyline in the background is amazing. Pro tip: keep your phone or camera ready and use a fast shutter speed so you don't get a blurry shot! 📸 Apparently, this station was built back in 1964 for the Tokyo Olympics because the main Osaka station was getting way too crowded. Today, it’s a massive transit hub, but it’s also a food paradise. You cannot leave this station without trying the food. I stopped by the Eki Marche area inside the station and grabbed some pork buns from "551 Horai". They are super cheap, hot, and seriously delicious. I also picked up one of those cool Shinkansen-shaped bento boxes from Awajiya for the ride. Overall, a pretty awesome start to the Osaka trip. If you've been here, what's your go-to station snack? Let me know! 🙌

So I recently saved up some money from my internship allowance to treat myself to a trip to Osaka, and I decided to splurge on the new Four Seasons Osaka in Dojima. If you know me, you know like 80% of my travel budget always goes to food, so booking this place was a very calculated decision because their dining options looked insane. Getting there was actually quite chill, though the Osaka underground station maze almost got the best of me. We walked over from Nishi-Umeda station, and it’s super near Kitashinchi, which is basically foodie heaven anyway. The weather was a bit breezy when we went, and honestly, the peace and quiet here is such a relief compared to the crazy, packed crowds over at Shinsaibashi. I booked a room on the "Gensui" floor (the 28th floor). It’s super cool because it’s designed like a modern Japanese ryokan but high up in the sky. You walk in barefoot on tatami mats, and they even have an exclusive SABO tea lounge just for guests on this floor. It felt so zen and fancy, I almost didn't want to leave the room. But okay, let's talk about the food because that's where my wallet literally cried (but my stomach was so happy). First, I had to try Sushi L’Abysse Osaka. It’s this French-meets-Edomae sushi omakase with only 18 seats. The flavor combinations were absolutely mind-blowing—definitely the highlight of my trip. For late-night drinks, we went up to Bar Bota on the 37th floor. The 360-degree night view of the city lights was beautiful, and the herb-infused cocktails were quite unique. Also, don't sleep on Farine, their bakery on the ground floor. I grabbed some pastries in the morning and the croissants were so buttery and flaky! After eating my way through the hotel, I spent the evening at the 36th-floor indoor pool and the traditional public bath (ofuro). Soaking in the hot water while looking out at the skyline after walking 20,000 steps was the absolute best feeling. It is definitely on the pricier side, but if you're a foodie who appreciates a quiet, aesthetic space away from the main tourist hustle, it's 10/10 worth saving up for.

Children's Day on May 5 is associated with the image of colorful Koinobori carp flags made of cloth (in Japanese, Koi means carp, Nobori means flag, banner) over 3m long hung on high poles in front of balconies or in the yard. The image of carp jumping over the Dragon Gate to become a dragon has become a symbol of strength, courage to overcome fierce waterfalls and difficulties to achieve success in life. The custom of hanging carp flags on Children's Day of every Japanese family is also to pray for children to be healthy and successful like carp.
