2025 Shimen District Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in February)

Address: Linshanbi Parking Lot, Demao Village, Shimen District, New Taipei City. Bus: Take the Tamsui Bus 862 from Tamsui MRT Station to 'North Coast Scenic Area Administration Station', then walk to the destination. There is a wooden trail at Linshanbi, which is well-planned and maintained, making it perfect for walking or cycling. The sand here is beautiful, and there is black sand, which is said to have a higher iron content. The coastline is well-maintained, and many people come here to relax, picnic, and play in the water. Everyone is conscious of taking their trash home, leaving a clean beach for the next group of visitors.

As a sea lover, I visited the beautiful Linshanbi Geological and Ecological Trail and stopped by the popular restaurant 'Hi! Old House is Open' café for some delicious food. The trail's signature scenery includes wild lilies along the path, sharply defined wind-eroded rocks, and the algal reef coast. If you have enough energy, you can walk all the way to Baisha Bay; along the way, you can enjoy the intertidal zone and play in the water. The Linshanbi wooden boardwalk was featured in the movie 'Secret,' and the café at the trail entrance, 'Hi! Old House is Open,' was our rest stop for the day. It's a beautiful coastal ecological trail that's easy to walk and suitable for the whole family. There's a free parking lot next to Linshanbi Fishing Port. Happiness Double Heart Park is a large green park located in Shimen District, New Taipei City, covering an area of 2,600 square meters. It combines the local fishing method of 'Qian Gu' and the imagery of 'Happy Shimen,' allowing visitors to relax while learning about the history and culture of the Laomei area in Shimen. It is also an important rest stop on the North Coast Bicycle Path, connecting nearby attractions such as Fugui Cape, Fuji Fishing Harbor, and Shimen Bridge. #myfoodies We dropped by this cafe after visiting Shimendong. Strategically located in front of the bus stop, it is pretty hard to miss. The view of the cafe was great, facing the ocean without anything blocking it’s view. The decoration in the cafe is minimalistic, and they have outdoor seatings by the entrance and rooftop. They serve only coffee and desserts. It’s a great place to chill, enjoy coffee and the view.
