Teriberka, the land at the end of the world
It is a place where the word beautiful can be used very extravagantly. Wherever you walk, you will exclaim "Wow" all the way. It is beautiful and magnificent. Nature is so beautiful. You will see the vast Bahrain Sea and next to it is the North Pole.
The surrounding area has a lake which in winter will be completely frozen and there is also a frozen waterfall. It is a place that makes us very excited and the wind is very strong too.^^

🐋 Whales watching in Teriberka
We went to Teriberka in winter and didn’t know that you can see whales there but once we knew, it was decided immediately to go for it! First, you need to wear lots of warm clothes, second, you need to know that the vessel is very old 😅 and third, you have to be ready that it may take long time to “hunt” on whales, but the good point is that there are many ships in the sea and once one of them spotted whales the other ones keep in touch and rush to the same area. The rest is just luck : how close you will be to that creatures 🥹

Mysterious ship in Teriberka
On central beach of Teriberka you can find an old ship. There is a mysterious story about how this ship appeared to be there. The story says that one day this ship was found on the shore with no person on board. It was absolutely empty and still this mysterious riddle has not been solved. But nowadays this ship became a touristic place where many people come.

Hunting for the Northern Lights at the Edge of the Arctic Circle
📍Address: teriberka russia
💞Reason for recommendation: For those who want to see the northern lights, at a price of ten thousand, this place is quite suitable.
🗓️Travel planning: It is recommended to land in Murmansk and book a car because this place is quite far from the city, which we can call a taxi to drive to.
But the view while driving is just as beautiful.
- On a clear day, we can look up at the sky without having to hire a car to chase the northern lights.
But it is very good to check the light intensity index during the time you come to prepare yourself. The rest may have to take a chance to see if the sky is clear that day.
If it is during a period of strong light, it will be quite clear. You can say that you can look until you get tired of it.

I went to Russia last year. Before leaving, I saw the news and felt that the war was quite tense. I was also worried about the impact~ I didn’t expect that everywhere I went was peaceful [Angel]

🌊 Abandoned fishing boats on the cliffs of the Barents Sea, take photos on a cloudy day to create a sense of doomsday! (In order to take pictures of this ship, our car got stuck in the beach because we only rented an SUV but not a four-wheel drive vehicle [Facepalm])
📌The same shipwreck skeleton as "Leviathan", wearing a bright-colored coat, the contrasting colors are super eye-catching!

🚗 Self-driving tips
✅ Vehicle: Rent a four-wheel drive SUV! The gravel road in Teriberka village + winter snow all depend on it (be sure to listen to advice [Smart])
✅ Navigation: Yandex Maps offline map (Google often has problems, I personally tested it and it doesn’t work well)
📃 Visa and documents:
✅ Chinese driver’s license must be accompanied by a Russian translation (notarized).
✅Passport visas are required to enter border areas (such as Vyborg) (but some foreigners who are too close to the border are still not allowed to enter. We passed a border road closer to Finland and were still stopped)

I spent 350 to chase the aurora in Russia
I really like Russia!
Everything seems to be predestined. My best friend originally planned to go to see the volcano.
But the recent project I was working on was not expected to be completed until mid-October, so I didn’t go.
As a result, the project suddenly died at the end of September and I didn’t have a visa. I opened Amap to see the world map.
I chose this country and the electronic visa was issued in 4 days. I flew directly from Chengdu to St. Petersburg.
I didn’t know you could see the Northern Lights in Russia before I went there!
I saw a few notes by chance and chose Murmansk between Murmansk and Moscow. I decided to chase the northern lights.
I didn’t expect to see it in Moore as soon as I got off the plane!
Although the forecast index was very low before I went there, I saw it on two or three days after I went there.
I met two kids from Shanghai at the airport. We got along really well.
We specially hired an aurora hunter to help us choose the direction of Finland to chase the light
350 yuan per person for 3 hours
The car just drove out of the city and encountered a big explosion
There was a huge explosion after midnight. We were very lucky. The whole sky was full of it! !
My New Year's wish for 2020 is to chase the Northern Lights in Iceland. I didn't go abroad because of the mask.
I didn't expect that it would suddenly happen in Russia.
Moreover, the cost of living in Russia is very low. Two people had the best food, accommodation and flights for 6 days and it only cost 30,000 yuan in total. It's very touching. The residents are also simple and friendly to China. On the first day, I couldn't withdraw money when I got off the plane and was surrounded by people to help me. In short, I like Russia
P.S. I don't recommend going to Teriberka. It's a bit boring and chasing light is not as easy as chasing light in Moore.

Aurora breaks out in Jieli | How to describe the shock of this moment
If I were 18 years old, I would probably feel envious of who I am now.
Before I turned 30, I realized my wish to see the Aurora.
Fortunately, on my first night in Teriberka, I witnessed a magnificent burst of auroras.
At 22:00 in the evening, with a sense of expectation, I strolled to the Barents Sea, trying to find the mysterious aurora.
At first, there was just a faint green light on the other side of the sea, but then it turned into a red-green glow that could be seen all over the sky.
Against the backdrop of the bright starry sky and occasional shooting stars,
I was deeply shocked by this scene and moved to tears.
The beauty of this moment is something I cannot adequately express in words.

Teriberka: The land at the end of the world in winter ❄️🇷🇺
🧣 When it comes to the dreams of snow lovers and the polar atmosphere, Teriberka is one of the destinations that you must visit at least once! A small village on the coast of the Barents Sea in northern Russia, about 2 hours from Murmansk, is a place full of tranquility and natural charm in winter.
☃️ What's good about Teriberka in winter?
1. Hunting the Northern Lights
Teriberka is one of the most popular places for hunting the Aurora Borealis because the area is far from city lights, making the sky clear and pitch black. The chances of seeing the Northern Lights are very high! Especially if you come during December-February, you may see the Northern Lights dancing across the sky.
2. Spectacular view of the Arctic
In winter, the entire village is covered in snow and ice, while the coastline is full of broken ice, a view that is both raw and beautiful that will take your breath away.
3. Ship Graveyard
A popular photo spot filled with the remains of old ships that have been left to rot on the shore. In winter, these shipwrecks are covered in snow, creating a different kind of charm.
4. Frozen waterfall
Waterfalls near the coast of Teriberka freeze over in winter, making it another great place to take photos and experience the grandeur of nature.
5. Experience the traditional way of life
This small village still preserves the original way of life of the locals. Most of the villagers still live a simple life in the cold environment.
🛷 Must-do activities in Teriberka
• Snowmobile riding or sledding
Have fun playing in the snow on a snowmobile or try riding a sled pulled by reindeer for a different kind of polar feel.
• Try local food
Fresh seafood from the Barents Sea, such as King Crab and salmon. We recommend trying the warm fish soup that helps relieve the cold very well.
• Take a walk along the Barents Sea. Even though it's cold and the strong wind bites your face, the beauty of the coast and the sound of waves hitting the ice make this experience worthwhile.
How to get to Teriberka
• From Murmansk, it takes about 2-3 hours by car (it is recommended to book a car with a driver who has experience driving on snow roads).
• The road in winter may be covered in heavy snow, so check the weather conditions before traveling.
Tips for visiting Teriberka in winter
• Dress warmly: It is very cold here, temperatures can drop as low as -30°C. A down coat, gloves, hat, and non-slip shoes are a must-have.
• Bring a flashlight and power banks: The days are very short in winter (about 3-4 hours of light per day).
• Book a tour in advance: Since it is a small village, a guided tour will help you get the best experience.
🪆 Personal impression
Teriberka feels like you have entered a world of silence and great nature. Every corner here looks simple but is full of the power of nature, especially sitting and watching the northern lights in the sky, surrounded by white snow covering everything. It is an experience that is both cold and warm at the same time!

The beauty of Teriberka cannot be captured in photos.
For me, the charm of Teriberka is not only the splendor of the aurora, but also the deep blue of the Arctic Ocean.💙
I have visited many islands and seen countless beaches🏖️, but the unique color of the Arctic Ocean has always fascinated me. Even in winter, when the sky is often overcast, the sea still retains its deep blue color, a natural color that no post-processing technique can fully reproduce.
I prefer the scenery of old Teriberka, such as the swing under the stranded ship, the frozen throne, the wooden boat on the beach... These scenes can capture the feeling of loneliness with just a snap, making it an ideal paradise for photography enthusiasts!

Braving the sub-zero snow to visit Teriberka at the edge of Russia.
Where is Teriberka and what can we discover there? Today, AGtogether will introduce everyone to this place.
Teriberka is a small fishing village with only a few thousand residents, located at the edge of Russia. This area opens out to the Arctic Ocean, and in winter, temperatures can drop to as low as -20 to -30 degrees Celsius.
This makes Teriberka a must-visit destination, especially when we are already hunting for the Northern Lights in Murmansk. We decided to book a local day tour with a local guide. The excitement began as soon as we got on the bus when the guide informed us that there would be a snowstorm today. We had to manage our time well to return before evening, or we might get caught in the storm. The journey from Murmansk to Teriberka is about 139 kilometers, filled with mesmerizing snowy landscapes along the way. Our first stop was to ride snowmobiles to a snowy waterfall and a beach. Throughout our journey, we faced a snowstorm head-on, which was thrilling. After taking plenty of photos, our local guide took us on a tour of the fishing village, the old harbor, and we enjoyed fresh seafood. It was an unforgettable day. Despite being a small village, Teriberka left a lasting impression on us.
P.S. On our way back, we indeed encountered a snowstorm and got stuck in the snow for a while. It was very exciting, but we were lucky to make it back to Murmansk safely.

I will recall the loneliness at the end of the world over and over again throughout my life.

I am also lucky enough to see the golden mountains of Rizhao✨

✈Transportation
Most domestic departures are direct to Moscow or St. Petersburg, and then transfer to Russian domestic flights to Murmansk. After arriving in Murmansk, you can directly take a taxi and book a taxi online in advance to go directly to Teriberka. The whole journey takes 2.5 hours.
·
🏨Accommodation
Basically, there are not many accommodation options in Teriberka. From a personal perspective, the recommended order is: Aurora Village—Barents village—Ecohome—Cendar grass. These are the most famous ones online!

💚Chasing the Aurora
Basically, the main purpose of coming to Murmansk Teriberka is to catch the aurora. There are many aurora hunters recommended on the Internet, and there are also aurora prediction apps that you can follow. However, there are too many factors that affect whether you can see the aurora, so I hope everyone will Think of the aurora as the icing on the cake, don’t let your lack of sight affect your mood.

❗Some important tips
1⃣It is recommended to download a whats app. Basically, you rely on this to communicate with drivers, aurora hunters, and landlords!
2⃣Russian English level is not very high. It is recommended to download some key expressions in advance so that you can directly show the pictures to the other party and speak.
3⃣There is no place where you can withdraw cash from Teriber Card. It is recommended to withdraw cash in Murmansk in advance. You can only use cash. The commonly used visa master in China cannot be used unless you have a local Russian credit card or bank card.
4⃣If you are traveling with many people, it is recommended to rent a car. After all, it is more convenient to rent a car in cold weather!
5⃣There are not many food options in the country. You can buy some food in Murmansk. The B&Bs here provide kitchens for you to cook!

Russia 🇷🇺Murmansk + Teriberka
#AuroraTour #Aurora #WhaleWatching #Russia
The Northern Lights is a natural wonder that you must see once in your life.
The autumn and winter seasons from September to February every year are the months for enjoying the aurora. The season for auroras to explode is usually in early spring or late autumn. There is also a chance to see the aurora from March to April. The most popular areas for chasing the aurora are Northern Europe (including Finland, Norway, and Iceland) and Yellowknife, Canada in North America. There are plenty of opportunities to see the aurora borealis at these locations close to the North Pole.
In fact, Russia has the longest aurora belt in the world. Theoretically, it is the second most suitable region for chasing auroras on the earth after Canada. However, in the aurora tourism industry, Russia has been unknown for a long time. Russia still has an emerging aurora capital located within the Arctic Circle - Murmansk (Mypmahck).

One must always make a trip to the end of the world to feel the deep blue solitude
For me,
what attracts me the most about Teriberka is not the aurora borealis,
but the 💙 deep blue of the Arctic Ocean.
I have traveled through many islands,
seen countless beaches,
but the color of the Arctic Ocean's water still strikes me as very special.
Even in the perennially overcast winter,
the water still displays a profound blue,
a hue that post-processing can never truly replicate as seen by the naked eye.
Teriberka is divided into Old Teriberka and New Teriberka,
with fixed tourist attractions.
Day tour drivers will take you to each in turn.
Personally, I still prefer Old Teriberka.
Although the photo props are artificially placed,
they fit the scene well.
The swing under the beached boat, the frozen throne, the wooden boat on the beach,
that casually captured atmosphere of solitude,
is simply a paradise for loners‼️
New Teriberka is mainly about the beaches and waterfalls,
which require an additional 🎫 ticket.
There's no need to go in winter, as the waterfalls are frozen,
and the wind is really too strong!!
The wind chill is very, very cold

Jeriberka|North of the continent, south of the Arctic Ocean
North of the continent, south of the Arctic Ocean. If there is an end to the world, I think it must be the snow and the endless sea.
In the brief 24 hours in Jeri, on the edge of the continent, we endured the baptism of a blizzard. At this moment, I truly felt that I had arrived at the end of the world, and that the end of the world is really all Chinese people.
Snow covered everything, only the warm current from the Atlantic washed the beach to reveal a line of pebbles. I thought that in this wilderness, there would only be human activities, but looking into the distance, I could vaguely see some black dots. Picking up the camera, I was shocked to find that it was a flock of ducks, and I couldn't help but marvel at the power of life.
The main purpose of coming to Jeri is, of course, to see the aurora borealis just by stepping outside, and I was lucky to see it on the first night. Now Jeri really often has blizzards that close roads, so friends who want to go must pay attention to the road closure situation, because if the roads are closed, you can only take a helicopter back to Murmansk.
