Want to visit a resort in the Maldives? But can't afford it? A great option for budget travelers is a stay on a local island and a resort excursion. The excursion is a trip to the resort island. It includes meals (lunch), drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), towels, and access to public areas, pools, and sun loungers. This is a great way to see the resort without breaking the bank. On average, such a trip costs $150-200 per person, with an average nightly rate for two being $500. We, of course, took advantage of this opportunity and went to the resort near the local island of Thinadhoo where we stayed. We walked around the island and saw the overwater villas. Alcohol is prohibited on the local islands, but is available at the resorts as part of the accommodation rate. Overall, everything was very beautiful, but the island was very small, and overall, I thought it would be a bit boring to live there. Well, unless you're on a honeymoon 😃 when all you need is a bed and the ocean. P.S. We weren't very lucky with the weather; it kept raining. We were on the island from 9:30 AM to 5 PM. The cost was $160 per person (lunch, alcohol included).

Ecoboo is always a guarantee! This was our second visit, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. It offers a friendly atmosphere with staff who are kind, cheerful, and accommodating. The sea is truly dreamy—the kind you don’t always find on other islands anymore (based on our personal experience). Excursions have been somewhat reduced compared to two years ago, likely due to the global situation, but they remain entertaining and enjoyable. The only downside is the shrinking shoreline, eroded by the ocean, which has led to increased congestion on Bichini Beach.

I stayed at Plumeria for a week and can confidently say it’s an enchanting place—a true slice of paradise. It’s the perfect choice for both couples seeking romance and relaxation, and families on vacation. The property is stunning, always impeccably clean, tidy, and attended to with great care. One of its strongest highlights is the food: the cuisine is exceptional, offering a wide, wide, wide variety of dishes. The rich, top-quality buffets at breakfast, lunch, and dinner are constantly changing, ensuring there’s always something delightful to enjoy! The staff is incredibly accommodating, friendly, and attentive to every need, but the real standout is the management. A special mention goes to Mr. Aziz, an outstanding manager who is always present and highly attentive to every guest's needs. His meticulous hand is evident in the precision and perfect organization of the entire team. I highly recommend Plumeria—a truly heartwarming experience. We’ll definitely return! There were only 3 rains, prices are lower, and there were fewer people. A great time. 3. Choosing an atoll and island. We chose Thinadhoo, and the hotel, Plumeria, was fantastic. Full board for a week for two cost 97,000 rubles. Taxes on site and boat transfer - $350. 4. Be sure to take the shark and turtle snorkeling excursion. If you're going diving, go to the Italians; they're to the left of Plumeria.)))

Drop by their sportsclub and check out the range of recreational activities - snorkeling, diving and sunset cruises on weekemds.

If you ever go to one of the local island in Maldives, checkin this hotel, as far as local islands standards, this is by far a great choice. We stayed here for 6 nights, there are a lot sharks and corals/fish to see (right within/by the hotel), great food, especially I have to mention the staff here. It’s much cheaper in nightly rate, but it has a resort feeling to it compared to hotels on local island hotels/guesthouses.
