Katoomba Motels

The hostel is near Blue Mountains National Park. There is a heater inside to keep warm Very recommended stay The staff was also very nice and would help recommend the climb trails The kitchen is so big that you can bring your own food

~Location~ The location was very central to the train station, town centre, Echo Point and restaurants. It is across the road from the RSL which is convenient if looking for affordable dinner options. The RSL is also stop #5 if catching the Explorer bus making it very easy to get around without a car although we walked to a lot of places. ~The Room & Establishment~ The room was clean and comfortable albeit a bit basic it did have a TV, fridge and coffee making facilities, a small table and chairs and a small cupboard. The bed was comfortable although the pillows weren’t great. Whilst there was AC the room was quite chilly and there were no electric blankets but there was an extra blanket at the foot of the bed. Breakfast is ok but nothing flash. A few different cereals although healthy options are limited, some fresh fruit, only 2 toasters for the whole dining room and some scrambled eggs. Whoever makes the coffee obviously doesn't drink it as it was awful and we heard several other guests say the same :( Hot water/pressure: Fantastic Wifi: Good (did drop out periodically) ~The Service~ Communication: Fair Understandably after the pandemic, staffing has been difficult and changed and as such both reception staff were both new. They were both lovely but things like check in could have gone more quickly and smoothly (eg instead of leaving guests waiting to check in to show other guests where the dining area was, there could be signage and if multiple guests are checking in at a peak check in time *2pm* perhaps both reception staff could be on duty).

Thank you for the lovely room, clean and comfortable. The food was excellent. Bit disappointed in the Christmas Event. The food was delicious, however only 18 people so no atmosphere at all. The entrainment was a bit morbid, which made it a bit cold. It was a bit hard getting service at the end, staff were in the kitchen for a while. Then one girl came out chewing food at your table. Which was bad. The Receptionists were good and friendly, I felt sorry for them as they had to make drinks for guests. So they we’re running around a lot. But loved the room, and the food.

It’s a hotel full of history and that’s why the rooms, amenities are a bit old. Our balcony room as ok and the view from the balcony was nice. I enjoyed watching the sunrise there. The room was not very spacious but you got everything you need. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was really dirty and just making me feel uncomfortable. Hope the management of the hotel will focus on the cleanliness of the bathroom.

The natural environment and the old British style match each other, and the absolute demand for taste will be disappointing.

This is an old motel that has recently been refreshed/ renovated. The staff are great, room is comfortable. The room was very clean. The bedding is very comfortable and the bathroom was newly renovated. The price to stay here is very low and it represents excellent value. The location is quiet but near Echo Point. If you want to shop in Katoomba, go to restaurants or catch a train, it is a 20-30 minute walk or a short drive. There is also an infrequent bus service into Katoomba.

This motel is in a good location, very close to Leura town and the Three Sisters Peak, but the only bad place is that all the rooms are on the side of the road, there is a big van at night, which is quite affecting sleep. It is not recommended to stay here with sleep problems. This hotel does not need to pay a deposit. After booking online, you can check in directly. The hotel facilities are quite complete. There is air conditioning, hot water and not cold at night. The facilities are relatively old, basically have not been renovated in more than ten years. However, 100 knives a night is still very cost-effective

Brilliant for family friends getting together, the Staff are very friendly and exceptionally helpful front of house & back of house, Breakfast was fabulous, the chef was fantastic if you wanted fried eggs or extra hash browns it was no trouble. The rooms warm & cosy very clean, the lounge areas were spacious & warm with electric fireplaces great for board games, chilling out or afternoon nibbles & drinks . Would highly recommend The Metropole it's easy walking distance to cafes & bars and takes you back in time with old charm decor beautifully kept .We will be back and spreading the word

The good things. Really close to town and main Street. The best were comfortable enough and had the basic amenities you need. The not so good things . The motel (just like the town it self) was extremely dated. We went peak season so paid a fair penny but it was a bit over priced for its condition. It smelt if mould and wet, the carpets were stained and looked ruined. The shower had absolutely no pressure and was hard to wash in.

Jamie provided us with the best greeting we have ever had at check-in. He was warm and friendly on arrival and asked us did we know the area and were we looking for anything in particular. He then took the time to highlight the specific locations on a map that would be ideal for our photographic adventure. We arrived in the early evening and Jamie had the heater on in our room and the lights on for us and this was greatly appreciated on a cold Katoomba evening. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable, The large bathroom was recently renovated with plenty of hot water in the shower. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and fully intend to do so in the future.
