Popped in after a walk. The pork belly was spot on - crispy skin, tender meat. Got a bit busy later, service slowed down. Decent spot if you're nearby.

Love the old-school pub vibe here, feels just right for York. The bar looks great with those barrels. Staff were really friendly too.

Excellent pub, obviously loved by the locals who booked it out - so make sure you have a reservation. 6.30 seems to be when they all flock in. Our table was for 7pm so we ended up having a bit of a wait and to make an alternative choice for mains as ours was sold out. Well kept cellar - excellent beers and plenty of cocktails available. Will return when next in York

Generous portions, but the menu could use more fresh, healthy options.

Great spot for a catch-up with mates. Just drinks, no food, but the vibe is right for a chilled evening.

Lovely beer garden at the back, so tranquil for a quiet pint. Felt like a proper local spot where everyone's welcome. The perfect place to unwind after a long week.

Hugo Spritz was a great choice for a quick bite. Staff suggested it, spot on. Refreshing, hit the spot. Good wine list too. Quick service, in and out.

Popped in for a late lunch, just before closing. The staff were fine with it. Had a simple toastie and chips. The chips were pretty good, decent portion for the price. A solid little spot.

The burgers are solid, and I appreciate the generous portions. The homemade chips and onion rings are a real highlight. Food always arrives hot, which is a nice touch.

This restaurant offers a great selection of drinks and the service is top-notch. Our servers Kerry and Jazz were friendly and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our brunch.

We had a family meal for six there and everyone enjoyed their meal.Staff were friendly and attentive but let us enjoy our meal in peace which we appreciated.Thank you Red Lion. We will come back.

The full English was spot on, but the real star was the light in the room. Just this lovely, soft glow over the whole table. Made the whole brunch feel so relaxed.

Lovely spot, the staff were really attentive. I had the red wine chorizo, it was the best I've ever had. The booths are quite comfortable too, makes for a relaxed meal.

Popped in on a Saturday night without a booking. Those chicken wings were the star – crispy skin, super juicy inside. The ranch sauce was something else. Staff were really on it despite the crowd.

Sunday carvery was decent. The roast potatoes were spot on, crispy outside and fluffy inside. Good portion for the price.

Came for the live music. Good vibe, decent crowd. Music was a nice touch, made the evening. Got a quick bite, burger was fine. Solid spot if you want something casual with a bit of energy.

Love this little pub on Princes Ave. Their fish and chips is always spot-on, and the price is right. That's why I keep coming back.

Nice meal deals and bottomless brunch options. Manager was attentive, which helped on a busy Saturday. Food presentation was good.

Came in on Father's Day. The food arrived sizzling hot, just like it should. Olivia and Kaye were so on top of things, really made the whole thing smooth. We're already thinking about next Sunday.

Been here a few times. They've got a good range of beers and the cocktails are well made, you can tell the staff put thought into them. Nice spot for a group or just a quiet pint.

Finally got around to trying their Sunday roast. The beef was so tender it just fell apart, and those roast potatoes were crispy on the outside, fluffy inside. The gravy was spot on too. Properly hit the spot on a grey Sunday.

Really liked the vibe here, felt safe and relaxed. The door team, Gee, Baba and Xavier, were spot on - made sure everyone was comfortable. You don't get that everywhere.

The 2-for-1 cocktails are always a good shout. It's just a solid, dependable place for a drink. The vibe is always easy, never feels like they're trying too hard.

We had our family gathering in their newly renovated room. The buffet was lovely, I really appreciated the fresh ingredients. Everything tasted so clean and well-prepared. Plenty of space for everyone to move around comfortably.

Nice pub garden for a birthday. The chef joined our pool game, which was a fun touch.
