Stopped in for lunch after a morning walk. The octopus was genuinely the best I had on the island, tender and smoky. They had a decent local wine list too, nothing fancy, but the waiter pointed me to a good bottle that paired nicely. Portions are big, so maybe skip the starter. Place gets busy, but it's worth it.

Came here three nights in a row — the poncha was that good. Food's simple but well done, and the staff actually remembers you.

The octopus was really good, but honestly, it was swimming in oil and onions. Kind of heavy by the end. Staff didn't speak much English, but we managed with hand gestures and smiles, which was fine. Simple little place, nothing fancy, but the vibe felt genuine. Just wish they'd gone lighter on the oil.

Strange mix of menu items which doesn’t fall into the Japanese/Med concept however food we had was good, service good and view is beautiful.

The beef espetada was the star—charred on the outside, smoky, really juicy. Got the lava cake with vanilla ice cream after, solid way to end. House wine was kinda meh, but the draft beer hit better. Place was busy but we didn't wait long. Would come back just for that skewer.

The gelato here is really good—rich and creamy, and the passion fruit and lemon cake flavors taste super fresh. Portion size is solid for what you pay, which I appreciate. Stopped by in Machico and it hit the spot. Maybe not the cheapest in town, but you get enough for the money.

Tomato soup was spot on, fresh fish too. Service kept it simple, no fuss. Prices fair for what you get. Solid spot if you're in the area.

The view was phenomenal, the staff both helpful and knowledgeable and the food was delicious. Impossible to ask for anything more!

Best place we’ve eaten in Madeira so far!!Very authentic place! We were the only clients in the restaurant which was a bit weird but the food was extraordinary. We ordered 2 different slow cooked meat plates and both were so good!Would highly recommend!

Stopped by for lunch and grabbed the codfish fillet stuffed with seafood — that thing was properly good. Seaside spot, so the view helped. Prices felt fair for what you get. Service was nice too, nothing to complain about. Would come back if I'm in the area again.

always a ten, Stephen and his crew Raul and Jesus take phenomenal care of us and guests we like to experience what we think is the best steak house on the island

Lovely authentic setting. Warm welcome and friendly service. Outstanding food and very generous portions. Recommend the scabbard fish with fruit… amazing! Thank you

Very nice place with excellent friendly service. The portions are generous, and the meat is very good. Don't forget to try their delicious sauces!

The octopus was cooked perfectly, really tender, and the steak had good flavor too. Portion sizes were decent for what you pay—didn’t feel ripped off at all. Service was fine, nothing to complain about. Just wish the place wasn’t so packed when we went, but that’s on us for the timing. Solid spot if you’re in the area.

Decent spot near the main temple if you're in Santa Cruz. Juices were fresh, food filled us up. Nothing fancy but fine for a quick lunch stop.

Nice spot for traditional Madeiran food. Octopus and milho frito were solid, and the coastline view is a plus. Service was friendly but a bit slow. Fair enough for the quality.

Pizza was decent but came out a bit burnt on the crust. The chocolate mousse though, that was proper good—rich and smooth. Sat by the window, harbour view helps. Not somewhere I'd rush back to, but fine for a casual bite if you're in the area.

The terrace view really got me—just ocean and sky while we ate. Octopus and garlic shrimp were solid, and the bolo do caco might’ve been my favorite on the island. Service was a bit slow but I didn’t mind much. Would sit outside again just for that breeze.

Stopped by for a quick bite before the hike. Staff pointed me to the cast iron omelette — spot on. Solid spot for a casual meal.

The chicken espetada was properly juicy, well-marinated. Salad with their house dressing hit the spot too. Place had a nice buzz to it.

The fried corn was the standout. Crunchy, salty, exactly what I wanted. Bolo do caco was decent too, soft and warm. Didn't care much about the view or the staff, but the food did the job. Would've liked a bigger portion though.

Stopped here with the kids after a long day—place was quiet, which helped. Service was friendly enough. I had the bitoque, decent meat, cooked right. Kids went for the bolognaise and cleaned their plates. Prices fair for what you get. Nothing fancy, but it did the job.

The seafood stew here is seriously generous — fed four of us easily. I liked that the place doesn't try too hard with decor, just simple tables and a relaxed vibe. Service was attentive but not hovering. Solid spot if you're after local seafood without any fuss.

The buffet was reasonably priced, and I liked that I could just grab what I wanted without waiting. Dessert stood out more than the main dishes, though. Food could've been a bit warmer.

The €25 menu of the day is a solid deal, and it was mostly locals eating there. Felt really welcome as a tourist, and the food was tasty.

Worth the uphill walk honestly, we were out of breath by the time we got there 😅 but it’s such a cozy spot. Felt like the only tourists around, everyone else seemed to be regulars. We grabbed a table near the window and just chilled for a while. Nothing fancy, but that’s kinda the charm.

The host really made the difference—handed us a blanket when the breeze picked up. Poncha was the best I had on the island. Food fresh too.

Came here for a birthday dinner and honestly it was solid. The mushroom risotto starter was the highlight, really creamy and full of flavour. Scabbard fish and snapper were both cooked right, no complaints there. Service was attentive without hovering, and we got to keep the table the whole evening, which was nice. Not cheap, but you pay for the quality. Would go back if I’m in the area.

Fantastic food, service a bit slow at the start, but we were compensated with a free desert, which was a nice touch. Waitress was lovely and really helpful in the choice of a reasonably priced bottle of wine. Highly recommended.

We greatly appreciated the service as well as the wood in the restaurant, probably one of the best we had while staying in Madeira. Thanks a lot for this nice experience
