The tempura here is a real highlight. Got the seasonal mountain veggie and mushroom set. It's perfectly crispy, really lets the natural flavors come through. For the price, the portion felt a bit small though. Still, the quality was there.

Love the old-school vibe here, feels like a step back in time. Came in after a long walk and had the beef stew. The meat was tender, just what I needed. A solid, cozy spot to unwind.

Counter seat was perfect for watching the kitchen. The fried rice had a nice, subtle crab flavor. Portions are generous, which I appreciate.

The mountain veggie soba was just right for a rainy day. The dashi broth had a gentle, savory flavor that really warmed me up. Simple and soothing.

Came here after visiting Zenkoji. The tonkatsu was so crispy, and the miso soup had a nice depth to it. The pork was tender, not dry at all. A solid choice near the temple.

The katsudon was a nice surprise. Thin, crispy pork cutlet over rice. The spicy mushroom pickles were a great touch. I had a local lager with it, which cut through the richness nicely. Solid choice for a quick lunch.

The summer special chestnut shaved ice was so fluffy! The syrup tasted like real chestnuts, not too sweet. Perfect for beating the heat.

The sake list here is impressive. I tried a local one, chilled. It just went so well with the sashimi platter. That subtle sweetness cutting through the fresh fish? Perfect.

The apricot sweets are lovely, a nice local specialty. The cafe is easy to find right by the Zenkoji Daimon bus stop. I found the seats to be quite comfortable, which made for a very relaxed visit.

Been coming here for years. Their own parking lot across the street is the main reason I keep coming back—makes it so easy.

The tablet ordering with English menu was a lifesaver. Staff were patient and tried their best to help, even with the language gap. Made the whole process much smoother.

Came right after the hot spring. Got a seat at opening, but it filled up fast. The ramen broth was really rich and warming, perfect for after a soak. A bit on the salty side for me, but still hit the spot.

The yakitori skewers were tasty and the English menu made ordering a breeze. I really liked the casual, lively vibe in here - it felt like a proper izakaya. Prices were pretty fair too.

The evening set with drinks is a nice deal. Three small plates from a good list, plus a beer. A relaxed way to sample a few things without deciding on a full meal.

Been coming here for years, and the noodles are still just right for me. Slightly thicker, on the softer side. The broth is always strong and rich. That's why I keep coming back.

Right by Nagano Station, super convenient. Came on a weekend and it was packed, had to wait a bit. The soba was fresh and the tempura was crispy. Good spot for a quick meal after arriving.

Been coming here for years. Their coffee is always solid, and the sandwiches are simple but fresh. Hard to beat the price around here. Just wish the seating wasn't so cramped sometimes.

The shoyu ramen was pretty good. The pork cutlet and fried rice were also decent. It's run by a local family, which makes for a nice, relaxed atmosphere. A solid spot for a simple meal.

The vegetable tempura set was solid. Batter was light and crisp, not oily. Good variety of seasonal vegetables, each piece cooked just right. A reliable choice for a quick business lunch.

The kids' meal comes with a toy, which was a nice touch. Staff also brought a small plate for my child.

The soba had a nice firm bite to it, which I really liked. Saru Soba with the tempura was my pick. The dipping sauce was flavorful without being too heavy. A solid spot for a quick, satisfying lunch.

The strawberry warabi mochi drink is the highlight. The mochi texture is great, chewy and smooth. The strawberry flavor is rich without being too sweet.
