I had an amazing experience at The Embankment for my baby shower. The afternoon tea was delicious, and the service was impeccable. Tom, our host, was a delight!

The restaurant has a great ambience with fresh and delicious food, comfortable seating, and friendly staff, making it a perfect spot for a meal.

Lovely spot for a drink by the canal. The outdoor seating is the main draw, just watching the boats drift past. My Aperol Spritz was nice, though a bit on the small side for the price. A good place to unwind.

The large breakfast here is a solid choice. Loved the crispy bacon and the eggs were just right. Unlimited coffee refills kept me going all morning. Ordering on the app was super easy, and it came out fast.

The goat curry is a must-try, it was so flavourful. The space itself is really nice though, with a relaxed vibe and comfortable seating. I liked the warm lighting and the decor.

Been here a few times. The calamari is always spot on, and the chips are proper chunky. Fish was a bit greasy this time, but it's still a decent local option.

Been coming here for years. The room's always spotless and comfy, the food's consistently good. But the real draw for me is the location – it's so peaceful by the castle. That quiet never gets old.

Food's good, portions are big. Spice level is just right for me. Some of the curries felt a bit oily, but still enjoyed it. Would go back.

Love that this pub is so dog-friendly! Our pup felt right at home, and we could actually relax over a pint without worrying. 🐶 A proper family spot.

Booked the private room after a service at Gilroes. Staff were really warm. The sausage rolls and pork pies were generous, good selection of sandwiches too. Felt like a proper, quiet spot to gather.

The refurb is lovely, very clean and fresh. It's a nice spot for a quiet dinner. I did notice the menu is a bit limited for someone watching their diet, but the ingredients in the salad I had were clearly very fresh.

The team handled our reunion of 30+ without a hitch. Service was quick, staff were genuinely friendly. My only note is the wine list felt a bit limited for the occasion. Still, a smooth evening.

Been coming here for years. Charlotte always remembers my usual order and brings it over with a smile. That kind of consistency is what keeps me coming back.

Nice spot for a lunchtime sharing board and a glass of wine. The charcuterie selection was spot on, really good quality.

A nice spot in the centre of town. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. We had the vegan veggie platter, which was a good choice for a relaxed lunch. The seating was comfortable, which is always a plus for me.

Lovely pub with a great vibe for catching up with friends. The bar area is dog-friendly, which was a nice surprise - our friend's pup got lots of attention! The food was decent, but the real win is the relaxed setting. Perfect for a casual hangout.

I had the veggie roast at The George, and it was cooked to perfection! The roast potatoes were crispy, and the greens were just right. A great choice for a Sunday lunch.

The cocktails are really creative. I liked the one with the spiced pear syrup, it had a nice kick. The bar area itself is quite cosy, good for a relaxed drink.

The burger was really tasty and the chips were cooked just right. It's just a shame they use those little sachets for ketchup and mayo. They're so awkward to open and you never get enough out.

The S'mores Martini was a standout. Really liked the vibe in here - the lighting was soft, and the booths were super comfy. A solid spot to settle in for a proper drink.

The live music in the garden was a nice surprise. Good tunes, a cold drink in hand... just a really nice vibe for a Thursday evening. Made the place feel extra lively.

The new menu is a real surprise. Tried a few dishes and they were all interesting and tasty. Prices are pretty fair for what you get. The beer list is still solid.

Came with a group, pre-ordered their sharing platters. The mini burgers were decent, and the roast potatoes had a nice crisp. The wine list was surprisingly thoughtful for a casual spot like this, found a lovely Pinot Noir that went well with the spread. Food was tasty, plenty for everyone.

Staff were super friendly when we had to make a last-minute change to our big booking. Made the whole thing stress-free. Quick to sort it out, no fuss.

Love bringing friends here for a casual catch-up! The fish and chips are always piping hot and the portions are huge, so you never leave hungry. It's just a really reliable spot for a laid-back meal with a nice view of the marina. The staff are super friendly, which makes it feel like a proper local.
