Been coming here for years. The staff are always friendly and have a good laugh with you. It's that kind of relaxed, familiar feeling that keeps me coming back. Makes the whole place feel like a proper local spot.

Sunday lunch today was our second meal here after an excellent prix fixe dinner earlier in the week. Everything from the buffet spread to start with to the main meal and dessert was first-rate, made even more special by the fact that the expected sirloin of beef was replaced by chateaubriand! Served pink at our request it was tender and succulent. Fullmarks to the chef and to Will our genial and professional server.

Cozy little cafe, nice relaxed vibe. Had the milkshake and it was honestly incredible – thick, creamy, just spot on. A good spot for a casual bite.

Amazing service and such a lovely friendly waiter , food was fast and lovely , Only quark was the restaurant was chilly bar that 9/10 for me even went back the night after

Lovely old-world pub, really spacious inside. The decor is grand and gives a nice, relaxed feel. I appreciated how clean the loos were, it makes a difference when you're settling in for a meal.

Been coming here for breakfast for a year now. I really appreciate the consistent quality. The scones are always fresh and not overly sweet, which I look for. A solid choice for a simple, wholesome start to the day.

Cosy spot with a fireplace, ideal in winter. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Tried the outdoor patio for a late lunch with my dog on a warm day - very convenient. Solid for a quick, relaxed bite.

It was pretty busy when we went, but they handled it well. The service was still friendly and efficient. A good spot for a relaxed meal in Guisborough.

Been coming here for years and the fish specials are always solid. The cod and lobster dish is a regular for me.

The steak dinner was lovely. The meat was cooked exactly as I asked, tender and full of flavour. The peppercorn sauce had a good, sharp kick to it. A solid, reliable choice.

The steak pie was fantastic, really generous portion. But the homemade lasagne was the highlight for me. You could tell it was fresh, packed with flavour and arrived piping hot. Just what you want from proper pub food.

Came with a group of 6, and they handled our gluten-free requests without any fuss. The vibe was relaxed, and the staff were really chill about it. Good spot if you need that kind of flexibility.

The cakes here are lovely! I tried the chocolate fudge slice and it was so rich and moist. The coffee was just right to go with it. Staff were super friendly too, made for a really nice afternoon.

The staff are so lovely here! Always quick to help, whether you're at the bar or using the app. Makes it a really easy spot to catch up with mates - you don't have to wait ages to order another drink.

The lunch menu's about a tenner. Good portion size for that. The lamb shank was the thing. Meat fell off the bone, gravy was rich. Came out quick, which was fine by me.

Dog friendly and the prawn sandwich was fantastic. Really comfortable bar stools for watching the world go by.

Lovely spot for a quiet coffee. The sleepy jazz music is a nice touch, really adds to the cosy vibe. Perfect for just sitting and watching the street for a while. My latte was good, though it did cool down a bit quickly.

Been coming here for years, and the veggie breakfast flatbread is always spot on. It's the reason I keep coming back.

Been coming here for years, staff are always friendly and efficient. Got my usual takeaway today, ready in no time. They remember regulars, makes a difference.

My gluten-free diet means I rarely get good cake. Their lemon and rose meringue was a proper treat. The whole menu can be made GF, which is a relief. My dog enjoyed his sausage, too.

Love the old-school pub vibe here, feels just right for York. The bar looks great with those barrels. Staff were really friendly too.

Been coming here for years, and the private room upstairs is still my favourite spot. The view never gets old.

Generous portions, but the menu could use more fresh, healthy options.

The coffee's served in a proper, big mug which I really liked. It's a nice, relaxed spot to sit for a while, especially compared to the much busier places inside the park.

Love the flower-painted courtyard! It's such a nice spot to sit and relax. The inside feels spacious too, never crowded.

The chicken combo is a lot of food for the money, we had leftovers. I really appreciated how fresh the salad greens were, crisp and vibrant. The grilled chicken itself was nicely seasoned, not dry at all. A good, filling option if you're watching your budget but still want a decent meal.

The harbour view from the bar is just stunning. Perfect for a quiet evening drink. The fizz selection was decent, though I wish they had a few more by-the-glass options. A lovely, relaxed spot.

The food here feels just like a home-cooked meal. The staff are so friendly, which makes the whole experience very relaxed. It's nice to know the place supports a good cause, too. Prices are very fair for what you get.

Great spot to bring friends (and dogs!). The carvery is as good as they say, and the staff were super welcoming.
