Came here for breakfast and the staff were so friendly! I had the avocado toast with a poached egg, and the yolk was just runny enough. It's a cosy spot, really enjoyed it.

I love the vanilla and lemon sorbet swirl here. It's a really refreshing combo, not too sweet. The seating was a bit tight, but the staff were so friendly and helpful. A lovely, simple treat.

The ham and egg Benedict was the highlight for me. The eggs were perfectly poached, and the hollandaise was light and not too rich. The ham tasted really fresh, which I always appreciate. A solid choice for a healthier brunch option.

Just stopped by for a quick bite. The portions are huge for the price, honestly. Got the pasta and could barely finish it. Food was solid.

The team was really cheerful, even though we showed up near closing. They didn't rush us at all, which was nice. Food came out quickly and was still hot. Good service when you're cutting it close.

Popped in for a quick bite. The Portuguese custard tarts were the highlight, really lovely. The chilli bowls are still on the menu too. Staff were friendly and it's nice they allow dogs. Just a clean, simple spot for a break.

Been coming here for years, and the breakfast is always spot on. It’s the consistency that keeps me coming back. Gets busy, so you might have to queue a bit, but that’s part of it.

Got here early to beat the rush. Coffee's top notch, honestly some of the best around. Pastries looked amazing, grabbed a croissant. Quick and easy for a morning pick-me-up.

The gluten-free cakes are excellent. Had the afternoon tea set, and it's a solid option if you have dietary restrictions. Good to know there's a place that does this well.

Owner was so lovely. They were about to close up but still made us hot drinks and gave us a huge slice of cake to take away. Really nice of them.

The wagyu sharing board is the reason I keep coming back. The meat was so tender it practically melted, and the portion was generous for the price. A solid choice if you're focused on the food.

We spent the weekend in York and ate twice at the Malmaison bar and grill. Both occasions were perfect, great customer service and great food, just what we wanted

The nut-based blueberry cheesecake was a nice surprise. Really rich and creamy. Got it to go during a quick lunch break, perfect for a sweet treat.

Great for catching up with friends! The staff were really nice and the food was fresh. It does get busy though, so maybe book ahead.

A nice Sunday roast. The beef was cooked just right, and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. Good portion of greens. The gravy was a bit heavy for my taste, but the quality of the ingredients really came through.

Malcolm was so attentive, really made us feel welcome. The seafood pasta was spot on, fresh and flavourful. A lovely evening.

Popped in for a coffee and ended up staying for lunch. The shortbread is seriously moorish, couldn't stop at one piece. Brownies were a solid follow-up. Just a nice, simple spot.

Lovely spot for a cream tea in Staithes. The scones were fresh out of the oven, still warm. That’s the main thing done right. A nice, simple stop while wandering the harbour.

The kids' menu here is solid, my little one actually ate his chicken bites. Clean loos with a changing table too, makes things easier.

A really nice spot to unwind. The no-laptops rule is great, it keeps the place feeling calm and social. The staff were very friendly and made sure I was comfortable. A lovely, quiet atmosphere for a relaxed lunch.

Loved the cheese scone here. So warm and flaky, it just hit the spot on a grey afternoon. The whole place has this lovely, slightly odd charm.

This place is my go-to for a quick lunch. The brie and bacon panini is spot on every time. Coffee's always hot and ready. In and out in 20 minutes. Perfect for a busy day.

The lentil soup was the real star for me - so thick and flavourful. The burger was solid too, but that soup on a drizzly evening was just right.

Bacon and brie panini was solid, good portion. The coleslaw was fresh, clearly homemade. Service was quick, which I appreciated on a working lunch. Fair price for what you get.

Decent spot. The staff were friendly and the food was tasty. But honestly, the portions were a bit on the smaller side for the price. Left feeling like I needed a snack later.

The food here is absolutely fantastic, especially the vegan chili which was delicious! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even better.

The QR ordering made breakfast super quick before our day out.

The rooms are a good size and the beds are really comfy! Perfect for a group of friends. The ensuite showers are fantastic. My room's extractor fan was a bit noisy, but it didn't spoil the stay.

Been coming here for years, always hits the spot. Classic greasy spoon, prices are solid for what you get. Menu's a bit small sometimes, but you know what you're getting.
