The owners are so welcoming, and their wine list is surprisingly thoughtful for a small cafe.

Lovely Sunday lunch spot. Cozy and laid-back, just what I needed. Had tea by the fire afterwards, watching the cathedral through the window. A really peaceful moment.

Popped in without a reservation and they squeezed us in. The lamb rump was spot on. Their wine list had a decent Malbec that really stood up to the richness of the meat. The Thai curry was flavourful, though a touch more heat would've been nice for me.

Ordered and paid via the app at the table. Very efficient system, saved a lot of time during the lunch rush. No need to flag down a server for the bill. A practical feature for a quick business meal.

Found this little spot tucked away from the main road. The staff were really friendly and attentive, which made the whole meal feel very relaxed. Food took a little while, but it was worth the wait.

Stumbled in for a quick business lunch. The sea bass and mussels were fresh, well-prepared. Good quality for the price point. Service was efficient. A solid option near the office.

Good selection for breakfast and lunch, generous portions. The wine list is solid, but I wish they had more by-the-glass options to pair with the lighter lunch dishes. Still, found a nice Pinot Gris that went well with my salad.

Popped in for a late breakfast. The pancakes were warm and fresh, came with a huge pile of bacon and loads of syrup. Just what I needed. Staff were nice too.

Nice chilled vibe here, staff were friendly and gave good drinks advice. Toilets were clean too.

The oat latte is a standout. They serve it with a little heart-shaped shortbread, which is a nice touch. The coffee itself is excellent, really well-balanced. It paired nicely with the quiet morning vibe. A solid spot for a proper coffee.

The flat white was just right, creamy and strong. I popped in for a quick breakfast and it really hit the spot. A nice little find.

The eggs bene croissant was the standout. Perfectly runny yolk on a buttery, flaky croissant base. The hollandaise had a nice sharpness to it. The maple chai latte was a bit too sweet for my taste, but the spice blend was good.

The continental breakfast was fresh and nicely presented. My husband's full English looked good too. The coffee was a bit weak for my taste, though.

The spicy beef noodles were the real deal. Properly chewy noodles, a rich broth with a good kick, and tender beef. The spring roll was crispy, not greasy. For under £8, that's a solid lunch.

A nice spot by the sea, and they even had water bowls for the dog. The wine list was decent, a pleasant surprise for a casual place.

A good option for gluten-free dining. They have a dedicated menu and separate fryers, which is reassuring.

Great staff, really friendly. Their teas and coffees are spot on, and the prices are fair. I had a pot of their house blend with my lunch - it was just the right strength, really complemented the food. A solid spot for a relaxed cuppa.

Nice little coffee shop in Helmsley. The coffee's good, and they have comfy sofas upstairs.

Full English was spot on. Quick service for a weekday breakfast, got my order in and out fast. The chef was in a good mood, humming away. Nice to see dogs welcome too.

Nice spot for people-watching from the first floor. Coffee was decent.

A lovely, cosy spot. The coffee was spot on, and my dish was gorgeous – a bit too much for me, honestly. Had a nice glass of red with it that worked surprisingly well.

A great spot to bring the dog. The staff were really cheerful, and service was quick. The kids polished off their chicken burgers. I appreciated the solid wine list—found a nice glass of red that went well with my steak.

The full English breakfast was solid, good quality ingredients. A reliable spot for a decent meal.

Love that they have non-dairy milk. The almond croissants were a real treat. Staff were lovely when I asked about gluten-free options, very helpful.

Had a lovely breakfast here. The service was quick and efficient, which made for a very relaxed start to the day. The café might look small from the outside, but there's actually plenty of seating inside and it never felt cramped.

A lovely, welcoming cafe with the sweetest dog pictures on the wall.

We spent the weekend in York and ate twice at the Malmaison bar and grill. Both occasions were perfect, great customer service and great food, just what we wanted

The nut-based blueberry cheesecake was a nice surprise. Really rich and creamy. Got it to go during a quick lunch break, perfect for a sweet treat.
