The chicken roti curry was proper tasty and they topped up our plates without us even asking. Owner even helped us when our tuk-tuk died and threw in a free beer. Good people.

The deviled prawns were spot on, spicy and fresh. Banana fritters for dessert, so good. Right on the beach, pretty chill spot.

Stopped here for lunch and grabbed a table by the river. Pretty calm spot. Zoysa looked after us well, pointed me to the butter cuttlefish. Had that with a cold Lion lager, honestly a solid combo. Place was a bit quiet but that suited me fine. Wouldn't mind coming back for a drink sometime.

Clean place, tables had fresh cloths which I always notice. Menu was straightforward, no squinting to read it. Prices seemed fair for what you get. Staff left us alone to look things over, no hovering or pushing us to order. That kind of calm is nice when you just want a relaxed meal.

We stopped by Olu for lunch while staying at Anantara. Ganganath looked after us well, friendly without being pushy. I had a glass of their house white with the seafood—decent pairing, nothing fancy but it worked. Food was solid, though the service was the real highlight. Place was a bit quiet for a weekday afternoon, which suited us fine.

Came here for the grilled fish and prawns—both were done right, fresh and simple. Sunset view from the beach is hard to beat. Staff were friendly, didn’t hover too much. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but for the location it’s fair enough. Decent spot if you’re in the area.

The set menu is such a good deal—loads of veggie curries with rice, and you can add chicken. The eggplant and mango chutney really stood out.

The fish and chips special was a decent size for the price. Salad on the side was fresh, not just a sad garnish. Had the banana fritters with ice cream after, that was good too. Place was busy but we got our food quick enough. Fine if you're hungry and don't want to spend too much.

The fish curry here had real heat, not that mild tourist stuff. Coconut sambol was fresh, tangy. Rice cooked proper, fluffy. Portion decent for the price. Place was busy with locals, always a good sign. Maybe wait a bit for the food, but it came out hot. That prawn fry, crispy outside, juicy inside. I'd eat that again.

Loved the strawberry desserts here 🍓 chill spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Got a bit crowded when we visited but still a good place to hang with friends.

The rooftop is a solid bonus here. Pool table, some chill music, decent breeze. We hung around way longer than we planned after eating. Staff left us alone until we needed them, which I actually liked. Just wish the drinks had come a little faster, but the vibe made up for it.

The garlic rice and quesadillas with that local spicy kick were solid. QR ordering made it easy, though I wish they had a better wine list to go with the food. Cozy spot to chill for a bit.

The white wine here is easily the best I've had on the beach. Staff were friendly, Nikeshala especially looked after us well. Place is inside the Vibration Hotel, first floor.

The cooking class was the best thing we did in Galle. Started at the market picking up local veggies and fruits I'd never seen before, then headed back to cook with the family. The whole thing felt hands-on and relaxed. Eating what we made at the end was satisfying. Price felt fair for what you get. Just wish we had more time to try making the curry paste from scratch again.

The seafood platter for two was pretty generous, crab was fresh. They even brought out crab crackers without us asking, that never happens here.

The mutton kottu was really good, well-seasoned and filling. Portion size felt fair for what you pay. Service was quick even when it got busy.

The ishiyaki stone-grilled dish at the Japanese corner tasted pretty legit. Bit pricey for what you get though. Seating gets cramped during rush hour, so better show up early or expect to wait.

Our tuk-tuk driver recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. Chicken curry came with plenty of rice and sides, veggie fried rice was decent too. Family running it was friendly enough.

The veggie dishes were really well done, full of flavor. Juices hit the spot after a long drive. Easy stop if you're passing through.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Food was fresh and tasty, no complaints. Service was fast enough for a lunch break. The pool view of Lion Rock is a nice touch.

We stopped by for lunch and the staff were genuinely friendly, not the fake kind. The garden area is nice and quiet, good for a break. Food was decent, had the rice and curry, pretty good. Room was clean too. Only thing, service was a bit slow at times, but we weren't in a rush. Fine for what it is.

The owners really know how to make you feel looked after. I mentioned my dairy allergy and they handled it straight away, no fuss at all. Honestly that alone made the whole meal so much easier for me. Food was good too, but that little bit of care stood out the most.

I had a magical evening at Firebeach with cozy vibes and beautiful ocean views. The culinary excellence by Chef Sheavon Daniel truly made it a five-star experience!

The Sunday brunch at Plates is superb! With a great variety of dishes and a live band, it creates a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend for a fun and delicious brunch outing.

Been coming here for a while now. The submarine sandwich is still solid, better than the other branches honestly. Gets a bit busy so service slows down, but I keep coming back for that sandwich.

Solid pub, decent drinks list. Food's alright and portions are big for what you pay. Gets pretty loud on weekends though, hard to have a chat.
