Flame Mountain, known as Chishi Mountain in ancient times, is located in the northern margin of Turpan Basin, the northern route of the ancient Silk Road. It's going east-west. Flame Mountain, Uygur name "Kizilertag", means "Hongshan", Tang people used to be named "volcano" in their hot days. The mountain is more than 100 kilometers long, the widest part is 10 kilometers, about 500 meters above sea level, and the main peak is 831.7 meters above sea level.
