Treasure Island, a wetland on the outskirts of Taichung, is a marshland scenic area by the sea, containing rich and complex wetland ecology such as tide streams, marsh, beaches, gravel, mudflats and other wetlands. It is also the best place for various benthic organisms, fish and shellfish, birds and waterfowl to live in. Gaomei Wetland is also one of the best sunset viewing places in Taichung. There are also many windmills in the distance, wind power generation. The traffic here in the urban area is not very convenient. There are buses to arrive but there are few shifts. It is recommended to charter a car. It’s about 4 or 5 pm to arrive at the sunset, because the seaside wetlands are not shaded, and the sun is hot and hot during the day. It’s cool to play at dusk and you can enjoy the sunset. It takes a long wooden plank road to get into the water. The plank road is full of trendy crabs and beach fish (jumping fish). The parent-child here is also very suitable.

The sunset is beautiful anyway. However, I think it is difficult for tourists to go by public transportation, so chartered tours or taxis are good. There is basically nothing nearby, but there is Mitsui's outlet about 10 by car. I think it's an Instagram spot in front of the Ferris wheel there. I recommend seeing the sunset here once.

Arrived at Gaome with heavy winds. Its so cold but the amazing thing is that we’ve witnessed the windmills on their top speed. The place is clean and well maintained. Enjoyed watching birds (pelicans/ egrets, i think). Must visit!

It is suggested to drive or charter a car. It can start at about three o'clock in Taichung City. The way in is relatively small. It is easy to get stuck in traffic when the weather is good. It is only around four o'clock that you can play leisurely while eating and playing. Scenic spots are free. You can walk slowly along the pavement. There are many Taiwanese snacks to buy across the wetland. There are many crabs standing next to you. The wind is bigger than I expected. I suggest wearing shorts, walking to the aisle and finally taking off my shoes to play in the water. The water is very shallow. The sunset was beautiful, but by this time there were many people. Listen to friends living near here say that winter is colder, so if you want fewer people, you should probably come in winter to the west of the sunset, with windmills, wetland reflection.... You can take a lot of beautiful pictures ~~

The sunset in Gaomei Wetland is the best surprise that I met in Taichung. I sat on the long seaside embankment and waited for the sunset to blossom in brilliant colors and walk barefoot on the shallow beach. My mood was so happy that I could not describe it.
