Gaomei Wetlands Review

A great place with great sunset view! kids would love here too with the interesting view of the habitat in the muds.

The sunset is beautiful anyway. However, I think it is difficult for tourists to go by public transportation, so chartered tours or taxis are good. There is basically nothing nearby, but there is Mitsui's outlet about １０ by car. I think it's an Instagram spot in front of the Ferris wheel there. I recommend seeing the sunset here once.

Arrived at Gaome with heavy winds. Its so cold but the amazing thing is that we’ve witnessed the windmills on their top speed. The place is clean and well maintained. Enjoyed watching birds (pelicans/ egrets, i think). Must visit!

There are many Taiwanese snacks to buy across the wetland. There are many crabs standing next to you. The wind is bigger than I expected. I suggest wearing shorts, walking to the aisle and finally taking off my shoes to play in the water. The water is very shallow. The sunset was beautiful, but by this time there were many people. Listen to friends living near here say that winter is colder, so if you want fewer people, you should probably come in winter to the west of the sunset, with windmills, wetland reflection.... The sunset in Gaomei Wetland is the best surprise that I met in Taichung. I sat on the long seaside embankment and waited for the sunset to blossom in brilliant colors and walk barefoot on the shallow beach. My mood was so happy that I could not describe it.
