Took the drive to Hana, which was gorgeous to say the least. Although there are alot of angry locals on the road that will yell at you as a tourist for any reason they can. But, that being said, was well with the trip and to top it off some of the very best Huli Huli chicken we've ever had. Not to mention the best view one could ask for.

Excellent meal! Chicken is moist and delicious. Great location and easy to find. I would fly back to Hana just for this!

While driving the famous road to Hana on Maui April 17, 2016, we found ourselves famished but with few places to eat along that rural drive. We found a roadside place with crude hand-written signs, named "Huli Huli Chicken." (Generically, huli huli is a style of Hawaiian cooking.) It didn't look like much...an open-air kitchen with a few tables plus 2 detached "grass-huts" with tables...but it was sea-side and had great ambiance. Based on some other TripAdvisor reviews, we tried the place and had one of the best meals we've had in 2 weeks on 4 different islands in Hawaii. For $12 a plate they serve a half chicken roasted over a grill and seasoned/flavored to perfection "huli huli style," along with 2 scoops of white rice and a salad. (Sounds pricey, but for Maui that's a low cost lunch.) We sat in one of the 2 "grass huts" and ate our lunch less than 10 yards from the ocean! A quick rain shower passed while we ate, but we remained dry.and enjoyed one of Maui's best-kept secrets...Huli Huli Chicken. It's LUNCH ONLY and they take no credit or debit cards, but it's a great mid-day stop for hungry travelers. (I have no relationship of any kind to this business, and they're unaware I'm posting this review.)
