There are many Westerners on Merissa Beach, and some live for a few months. The owner of the small cafe and fruit stall on the beach is very enthusiastic and the food is delivered to the side. It's just more sun-dried, because the wind is not very hot. Be sure to live to experience the beach style.

The beach is one of the three major beaches on Sri Lanka's southern coast and was finally developed. It takes only a few minutes to walk from the main street to the beach, hidden behind the dense coconut groves is the unexploited beach.

Faced to the sea, there is a view stone on the left. Every evening, many people gather here to watch the sunset. The biggest feature of Meressa Beach is the big waves. It's not suitable for swimming, but for surfing. The sound of the surging waves and the real thunder match each other.
