Six of the 10 Marshals of New China (Xu Qian, Luo Ronghuan, Peng Dehuai, Liu Bocheng, He Long, Ye Jianying) stayed here successively, so they were called Marshal Tower. He Zizhen also stayed here. Shortly after the liberation of Qingdao in 1949, Xu Qian was arranged to come to Qingdao for recuperation because of his poor health and lived in the building for more than a month; from July to September 1951, Luo Ronghuan lived here, he studied at Qingdao University, and this time he visited the place again; after Luo Ronghuan, Marshal He Long lived here again; after the victory of the war of resistance to the United States and assistance to the DPRK, Marshal Peng Dehuai came here from April to June 1954 after the armistice agreement was signed. Li accomplished, inspected and inspected the navy; Marshal Liu Bocheng came here for accomplishment in 1955; Ye Jianying also lived in this building when he came to Qingdao for the second time in 1979. In addition, He Zizhen came to Qingdao for many years in the summer to recuperate in the 1960s and lived in the Marshal Building. Jiang Qing and He Zizhen came to Qingdao one summer at the same time. They stayed only 100 meters away, but never exchanged. In 1988, Jiang Zemin, then Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, also lived in this building when he came to Qinghai.
