Taichung Confucius Temple - occupies almost the entire block and is a peaceful place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The colorful buildings are well maintained and the complex provides a great place for people to walk. There is also a small garden near the entrance. We visited the temple later in the day and there were only a few tourists. It was very quiet and peaceful. The grounds and buildings of the temple were clean and well maintained. Access was free and the whole place was very colorful and vibrant. We had wanted to spend more time walking in the garden but unfortunately we were asked to leave 10 minutes before closing. Martyrs - just outside the temple garden, it's not as impressive as the shrine in Taipei, but it's worth a visit if you're going to the temple.
