West Coast Glacier Review

Two of the three glaciers on New Zealand's South Island are on the west coast, Fox Glacier and Franz Joseph Glacier. It is not easy to come here by land. Usually there are helicopter tours, canyon walks, ice climbing experiences, and I participated in the first two of Fox Glacier. Due to the impact of global warming, the lower edge of the glacier has been continuously subsided on the mountain. There is only a large number of rubble cut by the glacier in the canyon, which makes people panic. The helicopter overlooking and the glacier landing are still very beautiful. The West Coast Glacier Area is a famous tourist area on New Zealand's South Island, but due to its unique geographical location, the warm and humid sea currents are blocked by the central mountains, and the weather is changeable, so the road is often closed here and so on!

The town is small but the glacier hike and helicopter is worth a try. Very spectacular and beautiful. If you go in the peak season remember to book helicopters and accommodation. We booked the helicopter in advance or was delayed for a round if you can remember to reserve time

The glacier slowly slides at a rate of about 1 cm every day. Inside the glacier, due to its movement, the rubble of the mountain slides, coupled with the sun, make the glacier surface formed countless cracks and ice towers, forming thousands of shapes and dazzling.

The West Bank glaciers actually contain Fox glaciers and Franz Joseph glaciers, just play one of them.
