If you’ve lost something on a Southeastern train – whether it’s a phone, laptop, luggage or wallet – you may be worrying you’ll never get it back. But there’s no need to fret – there’s a high chance you’ll be reunited with your lost item thanks to Southeastern’s lost property team.

Below, we explain all the steps to take to report your lost item, collect it once it’s tracked down and provide other helpful information to boost your chances of being reunited with it.

How do I get my lost item back from Southeastern?

The first step you’ll want to take to get your missing item back from Southeastern is reporting it as lost via their Lost Property form. You can find a link to the Southeastern lost property form here.

On the first page, you’ll be asked to fill in your personal details, as well as some information about the date and place you lost your item.

You’ll then be asked to select a graphic for the type of item you lost. There are many options to choose from, including mobile phones and wallets, as well as camping equipment, tools and toys.

It’s worth noting that if you don’t see your specific item type here, it may be listed as a sub-category on the next page, so try choosing the category that relates to your item the best.

If you choose a mobile phone, for example, you will be asked to choose between a phone and a SIM card on the next page. You will then be taken to a section where you can enter more detailed information. You can also add a description and even upload a photo of your lost item.

If you’ve lost more than one item, you will also have the option to add additional items at the end of this page before submitting your report.

It may take a while for your item to be tracked down and returned to you, so remember to be patient, as a lot of work goes into reuniting lost items with their rightful owners.

Please note, Southeastern charges a handling fee of £3 for most items, with a charge of £20 due on larger electronics.

Where can I pick up my lost item from Southeastern?

Once your missing item has been tracked down by Southeastern, it can be collected from their lost property office at London Cannon Street, located next to Platform 1.

It is open from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00.

Unfortunately, Southeastern cannot arrange for your found item to be posted to you. You can, however, nominate another person to collect the item on your behalf, as long as they give your name and Lost Property ID.

Southeastern lost property contact number

You can contact Southeastern to report lost property by calling them on 0345 322 7021. Be ready to share your personal contact details, journey details of the train you lost it on, and information about your lost item – identifying features, IMEI numbers for mobile phones, and accurate descriptions are all very helpful.

Southeastern doesn’t share the number for their lost property office, but advises that if they call you, the number will be from a 0330 number.
