Unique-- "Great Buddha from the Neck" up
Very Interesting! Notice the rare thatched-roof on the Main Hall, even though the Shoin is a modern building. There is an over 300-year old history and some connection to the Tokugawa family. The main...
It is a small temple across the chitose gawa River in Yugawara Onsen go, but there is a Buddhist statue called the head of the head. When you climb the steep stairs from the river, you will reach the flat precincts, where a Buddha statue with only the head is placed in a strange figure. It seemed that I wasn't sure how it was for the head. It's in good condition, so it looks good. There is a feeling that it is in such a place, but it is quite a highlight.
JR It is about a 20-minute walk south of Yugawara Station and across the Chitose River, but Fukusenji Temple is located in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture because the Chitose River is the prefectural border. Here is a statue of Shaka Nyorai, which is said to be a slightly strange "neck Buddha" similar to the Ueno Great Buddha, but the appearance that seems to have failed to be restored felt strange. On the other hand, I felt the taste of the main hall with a thatched roof, the inland Jizo, and the old stone Buddha.
I went with a friend because it was near the accommodation. (5 minutes walk) I went because there was a strange Great Buddha. When I went, it was a great Buddha with a shoulder to the top, and it seems that it is commonly known as the "neck Buddha". Historically it is not certain, but it seems that there is a relationship between the history of more than 300 years and the Tokugawa family. The main hall was a thatched roof, and the Shoin was made in modern times. If you go to Yugawara Onsen, it may be good to put your hands together like this "neck Buddha". Generally, Yugawara Town ...
It is located near the Chitose River on the border between Yugawara and Atami. The address is Atami, but it is on the Yugawara side. The Chitose River is a famous place for cherry blossoms, so I stopped by a little. It's a bit creepy, but you can watch it for free and there is a parking space.
