Fort Augustus

In the small town of Augustusburg on the shore of Loch Ness, there are many small shops on both sides of the lock. In addition to selling souvenirs, the most are restaurants. The old castle on the Hunan side of Nice named the small town after it. The Scottish Canal beside it has a wharf for regular boat trips to Lake Nice. The area of the old castle is not very large, and it is not as magnificent as the castle on the Northwest coast. It is more in line with the living atmosphere of the town. The huge greenbelt along the river here still makes people feel comfortable if there is the sun.

Augustus Castle, located in the south of Nice Lake, is the most popular tourist attraction. Originally a government garrison, it became the headquarters of General George Wade when he built the road in the early 18th century. Today Augustus is well-ordered and picturesque. The ancient Class 5 lock on the canal is a famous sight.
