Saltwell Park

It is a big park, just a little. There are lakes, animals, play area, and even a small garden in the park. This is the first time I have seen it in a UK park. The play area is divided into two blocks according to the challenge difficulty. There are many facilities, from 2 to 18. Seeing a five- or six-year-old child climbing a swirling cylinder-like facility (Figure 12), foreign mothers all said, "He's a monkey!"

Saltwell Park is a Victorian Park in Gateshead designed by Edward Kemp. It opened in 1876. It used to be owned by William Wailes but is now run by Gateshead Council. In 1999 it underwent a £9.6million restoration and won Britain’s Best Park award in 2005
