Renamed only in 2011
Entertaining locals since 1913 when it opened as a Music Hall, it has led a somewhat precarious existence since then, including threats of closure on occasion. It was only in 2011 when reopening after refurbishment that it was named in honour of Brian Epstein. An impressive façade in predominant red brick presages the glamorous interior.

Sunday April 2nd - Jasper Carrot Show fairly good - but spoilt by awful venue and very poor staffing - what a dump in need of many repairs. Apart from the bookings office young lady who was very polite and efficient, all the other staff were poorly trained and not 'service' motivated. Impossible to get through via e-mails as site just does not work. Most of the toilets out of order. Bar staff unpleasant and inefficient - no attempt to deal with the queue in order and ignored my complaints at this (no draft beer on sale only bottles at £5.00 each!!!) Venue needs a lot of money spending on it as it is very dirty and has obviously not been properly maintained for a long time. Have no inclination to buy tickets for future events because the above complaints spoilt the evening.
