Gay Madrid & the Chueca District

The Chueca district is a famous gay area in Madrid and even in Spain. There are many gay shops here. Of course, the most hung here is the rainbow flag. It can be seen that the locals are very inclusive of people with different orientations.

Chueca District is a homosexual settlement. Every year at the end of June, there is "Rainbow Festival", a homosexual festival. The streets are covered with rainbow flags. It's very interesting to have different activities every day for a week.

Living in the 7th block of rainbow, I don't feel that scary. It is the elements here that are more inclusive.

There are many restaurants in the area where nightlife is more abundant, and it is also suitable for eating and shopping.

I had first gone to a SlideLuck gathering in New York some 8 years ago. The soiree - always held in a different location - is a dinner party combining art and food. Artists have the chance to exhibit their works in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. More than anything, it's a great excuse to meet new people and network. When I heard that SlideLuck had got its way to Madrid, I signed up right away. The secret location totally exceeded my expectations. It was truly underground, inspiring and very delicious.
