With high altitude, you can overlook the Tsugaru Strait, Mt. Hakodate, Onuma and Mt. Komagatake, and other wide areas. Although it was a weekday, the staff of the tourist association are also resident and it is possible to purchase a little information. However, the road to the observatory is open only during the daytime & summer sightseeing season, and you can't see the night view because you can't pass through at night. When I visited, I felt very cold because I had a cold and I thought I could open the car door anyway. ...
I've been to Hakodate many times, but I learned about this place from the bulletin board at the Trappist Monastery shop. It's about 20 minutes from Shin Hakodate Hokuto station, but I think it's a little-known spot. The weather was nice, so if you look south, you can see the city of Hakodate and Mt. Hakodate, and if you look east, you can see Onuma and Mt. Komagatake. Since it is Hokkaido, the access road is not so bad.
I stopped by on a detour after the day camp. It is higher than Mt. Hakodate, and it is a pleasant observatory where the wind can overlook Onuma, Mt. Komagatake, Mt. Hakodate, and the city of Hakodate. I didn't expect to see Onuma and Mt. Komaga from above, so I was impressed by the magnificent scenery. I think you can feel the magnificence of Hokkaido.
A little-known spot for sightseeing in Hakodate. This time, the weather was blessed and I could see Mt. Komagatake, Mt. Yotei, Muroran, and the Pacific Ocean, which made me feel refreshed. There was some snow on the mountainside, which was also good. Recommended.
The Kijihiki Kogen in Nanai Town is one of the best observation spots in southern Hokkaido. In addition to overlooking Hakodate and Tsugaru Straits, you can also overlook Onuma and Komagatake. There is a place with a good view at the end of the car. There is also a campsite.
